What made Stephen Moyer interested in Acorn TV's crime drama Art Detectives?
Moyer, known for his roles in True Blood, Se*y Beast, and The Gifted, shared what made him interested in taking up the project both as an actor and executive producer.
He revealed to Forbes that he was initially approached by the creators of the show. Moyer, who had little information about the workings of the Heritage Crime Unit, the smallest department of the force, was quite intrigued by the idea and the plot. Also, the executive producer of the show, Moyer, plays the role of DI Mick Palmer.
He told Forbes,
"As we go through the show, we learn more about [Mick’s] history. We learn about his sort of failure with the opposite sex. We learn that there is an ex-love interest - there’s a sort of new love interest. He’s useless - he’s brilliant at the art stuff, but he’s rubbish at life.”
In an interview with Deadline, the managing director of Acorn TV/Media, Catherine Mackin, said,
"Art Detectives is a rare and witty crime drama that audiences will get absorbed by. From the sharp dialogue to the mesmerizing artwork and the edge-of-your-seat twists, this series will wow viewers from start to finish."
