Framing Hui-su

The women started to plan how to manage Jang Kang. The fixers found his location. Eun-su broke into Jin-young's car and kidnapped Jang Kang herself. So-baek was upset by this fast move and the lack of a real plan. Eun-su then agreed to listen to him.

So-baek planned to send both Jang Kang's and Jin-pyo's bodies to China. If they did this, the South Korean police would lose their authority over the case. So-baek left Mr. Wi to guard Jang Kang. However, Jang Kang tricked Mr. Wi, escaped, and then killed him.

Jang Kang approached Jin-young next. He offered to lead her to Jin-pyo's body in exchange for a 2 billion won bribe. They went to the grave and dug it up, but found only a dead deer. Jin-young immediately knocked Jang Kang unconscious. The tension and shocking moments in the story increased sharply.

A final, desperate act

Officer Choi finds Jin-young’s story suspicious. He visits Hui-su's doctor, confirming Jin-pyo's domestic abuse. Officer Choi apologizes to Hui-su. He gives her the abuse report back. She shreds the report and the doctor’s findings. This leads to the intense climax of As You Stood By.

Jin-young contacts Hui-su immediately. She claims she found Jin-pyo's body and Jang Kang, left for dead by Eun-su. She threatens to kill Hui-su's mother and Eun-su. Jin-young demands that Hui-su kill herself instead. The others learn about Jang's escape. Eun-su suggests they hide at So-baek's place. Hui-su agrees and acts nostalgic. She sneaks away when Eun-su is distracted.

The episode ends with Hui-su locking herself in her car with carbon monoxide. Jin-young watches her from outside. This dramatic cliffhanger finishes this installment of As You Stood By. The writers push Hui-su into a misery rut for plot twists.
