"At least ten selfies a day": Love Con Revenge star Jill Schardein reveals how her relationship with Todd Dean first began

Netflix aired Love Con Revenge on September 5, 2025, with eight episodes. The docuseries features Cecilie Fjellhøy teaming up with Brianne Joseph, a private investigator.

Cecilie helps victims of romance scams "heal, reclaim their voices, their power, and their lives." The first episode of the Netflix docuseries features Jill Schardein, also a victim of romance fraud. She meets Ceclilie and shares her story.

When Love Con Revenge host Cecilie asked Jill about Todd's behavior with her between the days they met. She also inquired about his texting and messaging behavior. Jill responded that it was "constant."

"Constant. As soon as we started communicating, it was constant selfies, constant video messages. He was sending at least ten selfies a day, maybe sometimes more than that," said Jill.

Jill Schardein reached out to Cecilie regarding a man she met online, Todd Dean. After dating for almost a year, she gave him her savings, and then he disappeared. Since it was a "civil matter" and Jill didn't have enough evidence, she wanted Cecilie's help.

Cecilie then went to see Jill in person at her home. In the meantime, Jill opened up about how she met Todd and how things progressed between the two.

"I met Todd Dean on Facebook Dating," shared Jill.

After being divorced for ten years, it was the first time for Jill to explore the dating world through an online dating site.

"I was very successful in my career at that point in time, so I was excited about trying to get into the dating scene. I guess I was looking for a family man, attractive, someone with a career that was successful, and when I saw Todd Dean's profile, he checked off every single box," added Jill.

Love Con Revenge star saw pictures of Todd doing yoga, skiing, hiking, and more. She thought he had got "everything." When she searched him on the internet, she came across a few videos. She saw Todd holding a speaking engagement about his mental health facility.

Seeing him helping others with their mental health, Jill saw him as a successful individual who was happy with what he was doing. She also recalled their first meeting, which was a lunch, after which he shared his cell phone number.

After Cecilie and Jill met, she asked her about Todd and how he was as a person. Jill described him as charismatic, and he "stole the show" whenever he walked in or out of the room.

"He's 6'4", and then his personality is just...is taller than he is. So attractive," shared Jill.

When Love Con Revenge's Cecilie asked for Todd's pictures, she showed pictures from her first date with Todd. She also had videos sent by Todd, which she showed Cecilie.

Jill added that he was constantly sending her video messages and texts whenever they couldn't meet physically. She recalled receiving "at least ten selfies" every day, and sometimes even more than that.

The Love Con Revenge episode also featured a few of those video messages that Jill had received. Listening to Jill sharing how things started with Todd, Cecilie told her that it was called "love bombing."

Further, Jill recalled her second date with Todd, where he took her to get her nails done. She also shared how Todd gave her a key to his condo in downtown Nashville.
