Atomic Episode 4 recap

Episode 4 of Atomic aired on September 11 and opened with Max and Mohammed being detained by the U.S. Army, who secured the uranium. Mohammed refused to answer questions, but Max revealed that his girlfriend, Laetitia, was being held hostage, which shifted the CIA’s strategy. Mark Ellis proposed that instead of shutting them down, they should allow Max and Mohammed to proceed to Marrakech so the agency could trace the uranium to Alam’s network. Mohammed initially resisted, but Cassandra Elliott persuaded him by telling him his son Kamal was alive.

On the plane, Max and Mohammed created their own plan: Max would deliver one ingot to prove his intent and check on Laetitia, while Mohammed would hand over the second later. The CIA tracked their bags, but Cassandra intervened, warning Mohammed that he would never see Kamal again. This pushed Mohammed to abandon the deal, and he fled. Alam’s men later captured him, while Cassandra herself was abducted and brought to Ahman, the scientist building the nuclear bomb. Ahman revealed he was secretly working for Mark while also cooperating with the cartel.

Meanwhile, Max delivered the ingot and was forced to watch Laetitia suffocate with a plastic bag until he complied. Laetitia confronted him, revealing she was engaged to someone else and no longer his partner, leaving her furious at being dragged into the mission.

By the end of the episode, Alam’s men took Max, Mohammed, and Laetitia to be executed in the desert. Just as they faced certain death, the executioners’ guns jammed, allowing them to fight back and escape. Laetitia chose to part ways, while Max and Mohammed refocused on stopping the nuclear bomb. Using a confiscated phone, Mohammed tracked the weapon being moved toward Casablanca, setting up the final chase.
