Ballard, the Bosch series spin-off, is set to release on Prime Video on 9th July 2025. The show, according to About Amazon, will follow,

Renée Ballard, a homicide detective who appeared in the Bosch: Legacy series finale, investigates cold cases in the Los Angeles Police Department with the help of Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver). Like Bosch: Legacy, the spin-off will be based on the works of best-selling author Michael Connelly.

Bosch: Legacy ended it's third and final season recently. If you're a Bosch fan, don't worry. Detective Renée Ballard is going to arrive soon, continuing to solve cases that take place in the Bosch universe.

Ballard is set after the events of Bosch: Legacy's season three finale and is scheduled to release on Prime Video on July 9, 2025. All ten episodes of the show will be released at once, and thus, you can binge the show if you want to. No need to wait for weekly episodes to see how Detective Renée deals with cold cases.

To watch the show on Prime Video, you will need an Amazon Prime membership. If you don't have one already, you can subscribe to Amazon Prime by paying $14.99 per month or $139 for a year.

The show stars Maggie Q as Detective Renée Ballard, Courtney Taylor as Samira Parker, John Carroll Lynch as Thomas Laffont, and Hector Hugo as Captain Berchem.

Michael Mosley plays Ted Rawls, Rebecca Field plays Colleen Hatteras, Victoria Moroles plays Martina Castro, Amy Hill plays Tutu, and Ricardo Chavira plays Detective Robert Olivas.

Other cast members also include Noah Bean as Jake Pearlman and Alain Uy as Nelson Hastings. The show will also feature a guest appearance by Titus Welliver, who we see in the trailer of the show.

The show will follow Detective Renée Ballard as she takes up the cases of the unfunded cold case department of the LAPD. The trailer reveals that Detective Renée will be taking up a murder case from 2008, which has had no arrests yet.

She eventually finds other cases that are somehow connected to the one from 2008, and through investigation, comes to the conclusion that the perpetrator of these crimes is a strategic one, choosing his victims methodically. All we are told is that a serial killer, who has killed fourteen women, is on the loose, and Detective Renée and her team are determined to find him.

Kendall Sherwood and Michael Alaimo serve as showrunners, while the show is executively produced by quite a team of producers. Under Fabel Entertainment, Jasmine Russ serves as co-executive producer, while under Hieronymus Pictures, Theresa Snider serves as co-executive producer.

Michael Connelly, Michael Alaimo, Jet Wilkinson, Henrik Bastin, Kendall Sherwood, Trish Hofmann, and Melissa Aouate serve as executive producers. Jamie Boscardin Martin, Mark Douglas, Trey Batchelor, and Jamie D. Boscardin serve as co-executive producers.

The show is co-produced by Thania St. John and Stacia Warren, while Ralph Gifford serves as supervising producer. The show has been directed by Jet Wilkinson, Sarah Boyd, Tori Garrett, and Jon Huertas.

Ballard comes out on Prime Video on Wednesday, 9th July 2025. Bosch and Bosch: Legacy are streaming on Prime Video.
