News about Amazon Prime Video acquiring Merry Little Batman, Bat-Fam, and Batman: Caped Crusader came in April 2023 through Deadline. The publication reported that Bat-Fam will focus on Batman, Alfred, and Damian Wayne, who will try to navigate the challenges of being a superhero family, while also dealing with other newcomers who come to Wayne Manor.

Jase Ricci, Mike Roth, and Sam Register are listed as the producers.

Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon and MGM Studios, had the following to say:

Batman: Caped Crusader will no doubt continue that tradition and, alongside Merry Little Batman and Bat-Family, we’re thrilled to collaborate with Warner Bros. Animation to offer a variety of takes of the Batman mythos to our global Prime Video customers.”

According to Screen Rant, Bat-Fam will release on Amazon Prime Video on November 10, 2025, and viewers will need an active subscription to the streaming service to watch the upcoming animated series. Furthermore, the show will comprise 10 episodes and also feature other characters, such as Alicia Pennyworth, Alfred’s grandniece, and Selina, the cat.

According to TV Insider, Luke Wilson will voice the character of Bruce Wayne/Batman, James Cromwell will voice Alfred Pennyworth, and Yonas Kibreab will voice Bruce Wayne’s enthusiastic grade-schooler son Damian Wayne. TV Insider notes that the show will also have a screening and a panel at the New York Comic-Con on Saturday, October 11, 2025. The panel will feature Mike Roth and the voice cast of the series.

A new trailer for the show was recently released by Amazon Prime Video, showcasing the comedic chaos that takes place inside Wayne Manor. While Batman tries to unite all his quirky family members like Damian, Claire, and the others, he also fights crime in the streets of Gotham. Batman’s arch nemesis, like Mad Hatter, Killer Croc, and others, also make an appearance in the trailer.

Clearly, the show aims to revive the classic character of Batman by introducing new and fresh characters and making the iconic comic characters more lively and engaging for modern viewers. According to Screen Rant, the new show will explore other characters apart from Batman.

Screen Rant also notes that no other animation series related to Batman has exclusively focused on the Bat-Family, and therefore, the new series is like a breath of fresh air.
