Beauty in the Beast (WT) gets official greenlight from Netflix

Korean drama fans have good news, as Netflix has given the go-ahead to Beauty in the Beast (WT). However, the title hasn't been finalized yet and could be updated later.

Directed by Jin Hyuk, the drama features Kim Min-ju, Lomon, and Moon Sang-min in the main leads.

According to the Tudum article, the storyline revolves around:

"Min-soo’s coming-of-age as she enters college after years of rigorous training to suppress her instincts and avoid transforming. Navigating a new world — and new feelings — she finds herself caught between the steady warmth of Hae-jun and the free-spirited pull of Do-ha."

Beauty in the Beast falls in the romance, thriller, and fantasy genres.

Release date speculations for Beauty in the Beast

Beauty in the Beast is currently under production with no release date confirmed so far by the streaming platform. The drama is speculated to be released by the end of this year or next year. Asian Wiki has set the release date as 2027.

Additionally, the latest Tudum article covering all the big Netflix releases for this year doesn't mention Beauty in the Beast. This leaves fans with the speculation that it will be released sometime next year.

Once released, it will be exclusively available on the platform for the viewers to watch.

What will be the plot of Beauty in the Beast?

The story of the Korean drama revolves around Min-soo, a college girl who is also a werewolf. However, no one knows her secret, as she prefers to keep her life private and live like an average college student without grabbing a lot of attention from her college mates.

The drama brings twists and turns with the introduction of Do-Ha, a character who is also a wolf-human, similar to the female lead. Viewers will also see the third main lead, Hae-jun, who gets curious about Min-Su.

Min-soo, being someone who wants to keep a low profile, will come across Do-Ha and Hae-jun, who are totally different in their personalities.

Cast of Beauty in the Beast

1) Kim Min-ju as Ha Min-soo

Min-soo doesn't want to show her power to the others and wants to keep it hidden to get along with the normal college students. She lives a life of a human and a werewolf.

2) Moon Sang-min as Hae-jun

Hae-jun is Min-soo's senior in college. While he carries a straight face, he is warm at heart and even finds Min-soo's powers attractive. This makes him drawn towards her.

3) Lomon as Do-ha

Fans of Lomon will see him in the character of Do-ha, who doesn't care about what others will think of him and wants to live his life according to his own rules. However, at times, he might find Min-soo annoying because of her decision to hide her powers and not be fully open about them.

Details of the other cast members have not been revealed by Netflix as of now. Additionally, the number of episodes has also not been confirmed. Interested viewers will have to wait for Netflix to announce more details about the upcoming Korean drama.
