Netflix has released the official soundtrack for Beauty in Black Season 2, Part 1, giving fans a chance to revisit the music that carries Tyler Perry’s family drama.
The album, out September 11, 2025, comes from composers Wow Jones and JimiJame$, the same team behind Perry’s Duplicity and Parish.
Their work sets the tone for Kimmie’s transition from survivor to leader, with music that shows both the violence she’s endured and the power she now wields as Horace Bellarie’s new wife.
The Beauty in Black Season 2 tracklist includes seven pieces, each tied to key moments in the first half of the new season. Songs like Mask Up, featuring Lambert “Stereo” Waldrip, and Kiss of Death, with JIMIJAME$ and Tony Ozier, bring the tension of Kimmie’s world into sound. Meanwhile, She Can’t stay, and Angel reworks her central theme into string variations that reflect her personal struggles and new responsibilities.
Netflix Music previously released two soundtrack albums for Season 1, which focused on Kimmie’s early days caught between strip club survival and the Bellarie family’s schemes. This new release continues that tradition, but with higher stakes as Kimmie takes control of the empire while enemies circle closer than ever.

Season 1 recap before Beauty in Black Season 2 comes out

Beauty in Black Season 1 set the foundation for Tyler Perry’s Netflix drama by following Kimmie, a young woman trapped in a violent world, and her sudden connection to the powerful Bellarie family. The season begins with Kimmie working as a stripper under the control of Body and Delinda.
Her primary focus is protecting her 16-year-old sister, Sylvie. The turning point comes when Body and Delinda kidnap Sylvie and try to force her into the same life. Pushed beyond her limits, Kimmie kills both women, running down Body with a car and later shooting Delinda in the head.
Meanwhile, the Bellarie empire faces scandals of its own. Their beauty brand is hit with lawsuits tied to chemical relaxers, causing cancer. Behind closed doors, some family members are tied to trafficking operations. Norman, still grieving his wife’s suspicious death, grows obsessed with finding her killer.
Viewers learn early on that Mallory ran over Norman’s wife, while Horace later has her killed in the hospital. But Norman never learns the truth. Instead, Jules manipulates events so that a homeless addict, Debo, takes the blame. Norman kills Debo, believing justice has been served, but the truth remains buried.
Horace, the ailing patriarch, takes drastic steps to block his sons, Roy and Charles, from inheriting his empire. Disgusted by their behavior, he marries Kimmie in a hospital ceremony, shocking the entire family.
With that move, he ensures his wealth and control of the company pass directly to her. The marriage turns Kimmie from an outsider to a central figure in the Bellarie dynasty, though she quickly realizes enemies surround her.

Kimmie’s closest ally is Angel, who helps her navigate survival after Body and Delinda’s deaths. But by the end of the season, he is arrested when police connect him to a stolen car containing a dead body. His sudden downfall leaves Kimmie without her most trusted partner.
The finale ends with Kimmie legally tied to Horace and thrust into the middle of a vicious power struggle. Norman is still seeking revenge, Mallory remains unchecked, and the rest of the family views Kimmie as a threat.
Season 1 closes with Kimmie no longer running from her past; she now holds the keys to the Bellarie empire, whether she’s ready or not.
