Beavis & Butt-Head was renewed for a third season for the revival and first with Comedy Central all the way back in June 2024, and since then, fans have been desperately waiting for an update on the revival series. Comedy Central puts all minds at rest with a trailer for the third season and a release date announcement.

The show originally premiered in March 1993 and has been a fan-favorite series and the network's highest-rated at that point. Following Beavis and Butt-head, a pair of teenage slackers, both of whom were voiced by Mike Judge, the show used their apathy, idiocy, and slapstick humor for social commentary.

The trailer released by Comedy Central for Beavis & Butt-Head Season 3 reveals that the animated show will premiere on September 3, 2025. The trailer features the duo getting a shoutout from none other than Metallica, where they ask them how much it would cost them if they wanted to buy the band. No, this is not real—as real as anything can be in an animated show—but this is a dream sequence. The duo then goes on to throw a gold bar at James Hetfield.

The trailer also features Butt-head having his braces removed from his mouth by hitting an apple out of his mouth with a baseball bat, and Beavis getting hit by a car, and this is only a trailer to all the drama that's in store for the upcoming season.

It doesn't take Beavis & Butt-Head to establish the tone for the upcoming season that it is going to be full of controversy and madness. The theme of stupidity continues in this era as they get a tattoo, which, according to them:

"Your tattoo says 'SSABMUD'"

When, in reality, it reads the literal opposite:

"DUMBASS"

A whole new era of stupidity returns, with creator Mike Judge voicing the duo (along with some other characters) and serving as executive producer. He is joined by Michael Rotenberg, Lew Morton, Ben Kalina, Shannon Prynoski, Chris Prynoski, and Antonio Canobbio.

It appears as though Mike Judge is on an unstoppable roll this summer, as this is the second show to debut, along with the much-awaited revival of King of the Hill, which is also set to debut with a new season this August on Hulu. So, who knows, we might even get a chance to witness the much-desired King of the Hill and Beavis & Butt-Head crossover that fans have been waiting for.

The upcoming Beavis & Butt-Head season is the third season after the revival in 2022, but for Mike Judge, it is the eleventh season. The show's popularity shows no signs of slowing down, as it was one of the most-watched series for Paramount+ with the first two seasons after the revival. The excitement and views that the trailer release has garnered show that the trend might continue well into the third season.
