We learned more about Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 on Monday, June 9, 2025, thanks to Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio. The two actors appeared in an interview together on Gold Derby. The actors gave this interview as they took a break from the show's busy filming schedule. In that interview, the actors discussed what Born Again Season 2 would look like.
What the actors had to tease about the second season has us hyped. It looks like Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, much like season 1, will see Fisk and Matt interact very little. This was confirmed by both Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox. When Gold Derby asked the actors if viewers should expect more interactions between Daredevil and the Kingpin, Cox first said:
“We're sticking to the plan where the more you put these guys together, the less interesting it is.”
Then, D’Onofrio took over the answering duties:
“But there are a couple of, to say the least, very intense moments between the two of them in the second season. It's sparse, but it's intense as hell. And there's a lot for fans to look forward to in the second season because it's, how can I put this? What we're doing in the second season, when we pair up Daredevil and Fisk in scenes, is even more complex and more dangerous than they've seen before. Some of the scenes that we're having in the second season, there's been nothing like them before.”
What do Vincent D’Onofrio's comments mean for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?
Born Again Season 1 followed both Wilson Fisk and Matt Murdock as they lived their lives separately. Throughout the entire nine-episode show, Matt and Fisk share a physical space only twice, once in the first episode and the second time in the eighth episode, where Matt even saves Fisk's life by taking Bullseye's bullet. Now, the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is supposedly following the trend set by the first season.
It must be noted that Daredevil: Born Again, as we see in its current form, is a reworked version that has been split into two. The original version of the series consisted of eighteen episodes, but Marvel pulled the plug on the original version of the series, and it was reworked into a nine-episode season 1. However, as of now, we don't know the episode count for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
Vincent D’Onofrio also confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will pick up from the season 1 finale:
In the same interview, the Kingpin actor confirmed something we knew about the second season ever since the first season's finale, that Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will follow Matt and his army's various attempts to bring down Mayor Fisk and his oppressive regime. Here's what the actor said:
“We pick up where we left off, and things are just getting increasingly intense. At the end of the first season, he's declared martial law, and that doesn't go away. That gets even more intense, and there's a feeling of a resistance being formed with Charlie's side of the show. Aspects of that continue through the second season in very intense ways. So I really can't say much more than that, but the story continues to move forward.”
Thrown into this mix is Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, who was officially confirmed to be a part of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 during Disney's Upfront panel in May 2025.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 doesn't have a proper release date yet. However, showrunner Dario Scardapane did confirm that we can expect it to begin streaming in March 2026.
