Below Deck Season 12 Premiere Recap: As the St. David crew returns for another season, the first charter turns into chaos

Bravo's Below Deck Season 12 premiered on June 2, 2025, with Captain Kerry Titheradge. The latest season features some new and lots of new crew members joining St. David.

The existing crew members, including the captain, are Chief Stew Fraser Olender and Deckhand Kyle Stillie. Joining them are new faces, including Chef Lawrence Snowden, Stew Solene Favreau, Stew Barbara Kulaif, Stew Rainbeau de Roos, Deckhand Jess Theron, Deckhand Damo Yorg, and Bosun Caio Poltronieri.

The first episode of Below Deck Season 12 featured cast members returning, where some of them got promoted. While most of the crew members get along with their work, duties, and more, Chef Lawrence doesn't want to continue after a chaotic dinner and some issues in the kitchen.

Below Deck Season 12 Premiere Recap: As St. David starts with its first charter, things don't seem to be working out with the newly joined chef

The latest Below Deck Season 12 premiered with some existing cast and crew returning to St. David. Many new faces joined the crew for their respective posts. Before starting their first charter, cast members enjoyed drinks together. It included Captain Kerry, Solene, Rainbeau, Barbara, Jess, Lawrence, Damo, and Kyle.

The next morning, they all arrived on board St. David. Witnessing heavy winds, the Captain stated that he would be avoiding any accidents, and their first charter would start with an anchored location. Experienced bosun Jess works here as the deckhand and shares about becoming the captain someday.

While Lawrence couldn't find his radio, Solene and Rainbeau got themselves familiar with the laundry room, Barbara shared the folding technique, which Solene records with a video. For the latest season, there will be preference sheet meetings with the Captain meeting the deck team. Fraser will be sharing details with the entire team via the sheets.

The first guest of the charter, from Tampa, traveled with a black light, as they do not want any germs anywhere near themselves. After dating Barbie Pascual the previous season, Kyle confessed that he found Solene "s*xy as hell," which Damo agreed to.

The next morning, Fraser instructs Solene on her duties, including scrubbing the toilets. As he mentioned, she will have ten minutes to scrub them, but she panicked. However, Barbara told her how to go on with it quickly. Jess is now a lead deckhand while Rainbeau becomes Fraser's second stew. Accompanying the Captain to greet the guests, Fraser sent Solene.

As guests arrived, the primary guest, Sam, stated that they would be checking the bathrooms with a black light. Soon, Captain pulls up the anchor, later learning that the luggage was left behind on the pier. The primary guest found the sheets on his bed "disgustingly dirty," with his black light, so Fraser and Barbara cleaned them.

The primary guest returned the steak during their dinner as he wanted zero red on his dish. Other guests' dishes also follow as they return their dishes, which turns into chaos. Lawrence gets on with re-working the dishes, but the guests decide to skip it. Chef did not like how things were unfolding and stated that he didn't love the "camera people."

While the rest of the crew members have been managing their duties and more, Chef Lawrence was not having a good day. The next morning, he woke up early to get started with the breakfast prep. However, he discovered that one of the stoves was not working properly. He asked the cameraman for privacy.

Seeing how the chef was feeling anxious, the camera crew helped him calm down. However, soon Chef Lawrence stated that he couldn't do "another charter." The first episode of Below Deck Season 12 ends with the chef wanting to quit.
