Big Brother Season 27 - What is the first mystery on 'Hotel Mystere'? 

Big Brother season 27 is taking place with a brand new house theme called Hotel Mystere, and it will have mystery challenges for the houseguests left and right. As soon as the first episode of the season started on July 10, 2025, Julie Chen Moonves was involved in the first task itself.

She has been a host for 25 years now, and this time, she takes part in a crazy plotline and delivers excellence. The winner this season is going to bag a grand prize of $750,000.

The season 27 premiere of Big Brother saw the puzzle start with Julie herself. The host is calling all 16 houseguests into the living room and gives them an introduction for this season. She shows them the Head of Household relic that is placed on the shelf.

Also, the viewers, since the contestants started coming into the house, can notice that there was a clock which was set at a timer of nine minutes and it was going down. As soon as it had hit the zero mark, all the lights in the house went out for a few minutes, and the guests were left wondering about what was happening.

Big Brother Season 27 - The first mystery

As soon as the lights are back on, the houseguests are introduced to their first mystery of Big Brother season 27. Turns out, Julie has disappeared along with the Head of Household relic she was so eagerly pointing out in the previous scene. She has left her shoe on the floor like Cinderella.

Now the Mastermind comes forward and reveals what has happened to Julie and where the relic has gone. It has big eyes and an eerie voice, something that is meant to be unsettling in a way.

This person admits that they have Julie with them. Soon, the telephone starts ringing, and it is Julie. She asks the players to divide themselves into groups of eight each. They are to find Julie and the relic respectively.

The group that is trying to locate Julie is required to solve a puzzle. They then stand next to eight doors, and each has different hints. The contestants have to guess what her outfit was when they met. Julie is standing behind the correct door, and Zack can guess it.

As for the Head of Household relic, it is sitting in plain sight among other relics that look exactly like the original. The contestants have to pick up the real relic or else will be thrown off the round. There are certain clues given to them about the object, and by the end of it, Jimmy guessed the correct one.

Julie then announces that Zach has gotten $10,000 as a reward for finding her, while Jimmy is given an opportunity to select four players to play the Head of Household competition later.

After strategically planning and talking to everyone, he picks himself, Adrian, and Vince. This marks the end of the icebreaker and the very first challenge on Big Brother season 27.
