Netflix is lifting its velvet rope for a new limited series, Black Rabbit. It’s shaping into one of the most star-studded crime thrillers yet. With Jason Bateman (Ozark) and Jude Law (The Talented Mr. Ripley) at the helm, this New York story dives into nightlife where family loyalty, betrayal, and ambition collide.

The show follows Jake and Vince Friedken --- two brothers who run an exclusive Manhattan spot called Black Rabbit. Jake (Law) built an empire, while Vince (Bateman) returns, setting off a chain of dangerous events.

Zach Baylin (King Richard) and Kate Susman co-created the series, which was executive-produced by Bateman and Law. As Bateman teased to Tudum, the series is “moody, dangerous, and unsettlingly realistic. "

So, who fills out the cast list? Let’s break it down!

  2. Jason Bateman as Vince Friedken: The prodigal brother and walking disaster, Vince, is trouble in a jacket. Bateman stars and directs the first two episodes, channeling his Ozark edge.
  3. Abbey Lee as Anna: A commanding New York bartender, Anna's influence behind the bar unexpectedly spills into the Friedkens’ lives.
  4. Dagmara Dominczyk as Val: Best known for Succession, Dominczyk plays Jake’s rich ex-wife, whose connections could save or sink the brothers’ empire.
  5. Odessa Young as Gen: An East Village tattoo artist with ties to the Friedkens, Gen inks secrets into the show’s conflicts.
  6. Troy Kotsur as Joe Mancuso: The Oscar-winning CODA star plays a bookie with underworld ties and unfinished business with the brothers.
  7. Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù as Wes: As a musician and entrepreneur, Wes embodies the glamour of New York nightlife while circling dangerously close to the Friedken drama.

Forrest Weber’s Junior, a hotheaded criminal, turns up the heat, while Amir Malaklou’s Naveen invests money (and maybe risk) into Jake’s businesses. Veteran actor Don Harvey plays an old-school Brooklyn bartender.

Journalist Lisa Klein (Francis Benhamou), actress Mel Whitney (Gus Birney), and renowned artist Jules Zablonski (John Ales) add flavor to the mix. At the same time, Steve Witting’s Andy lurks in the shadows as a moneylender. Even cameo players (like Michael Patrick Thornton as Trevor Turkel and Hettienne Park as Detective Ellen Seung) round out the cast of Black Rabbit.

The series will be a suspenseful prestige drama with directors like Laura Linney, Ben Semanoff, and Justin Kurzel behind the camera.
