With Blood of Zeus set to come back for one last time on May 8, 2025, it is now a good time to have a quick recap of Season 2 as Season 3 will pick up right where the previous season ended.
The official synopsis for Blood of Zeus Season 2 as per Rotten Tomatoes reads that the season,
"Chronicles the illegitimate son of Zeus, a young man tasked with saving heaven and earth despite the interference of a vengeful goddess and her monstrous forces."
Let us now have a detailed exploration of how Blood of Zeus Season 2 ended.
Gaia brought Typhon back in Blood of Zeus Season 2
One of the things that had been prominently established in Blood of Zeus Season 2 is that the Greek gods are marked by one fatal flaw like the humans, which is the inability to let things go and move on. It is because of this reason that Gaia brings back Typhon as Hades kills Heron and steals the Eleusinian since he was not happy with his fate that dictated him to stay in the Underworld, apart from Persephone.
This naturally makes Gaia mad, and after declaring that Olympians are not worthy of the titles that they have been given, she brings Typhon back. However, another thing that has been established in Blood of Zeus is that death is reversible in their world: Seraphim has come back to the world of the living and Hades had also previously brought the dead back to life.
Therefore, it can be expected that in Blood of Zeus Season 3, Heron will be found in the Underworld and since Gaia has already mentioned that only Heron and Seraphim have the ability to be the saviors, it would be interesting to see how Heron comes back and joins hands with Seraphim to save the world.
New characters were introduced in Blood of Zeus Season 2
Blood of Zeus Season 2 also brought along a bunch of new characters who added to the already existing storyline. Among these new inclusions, the most important ones are Demeter, Hades, Gaia, Typhon, and Persephone. One of the key storylines of Season 2 was the relationship between Persephone and Hades, which has been given a tragic spin as a love story that Persephone’s mother Demeter does not approve of.
Gaia is also a new character who is seen to be a matriarchal entity to the Olympians and she also personifies earth. Hades is introduced as a rather complicated character who is not happy with the domain he has been given to rule over and is also jealous of Poseidon and Zeus, his brothers. His character is more like an outcast and his subsequent actions also brew more trouble for the world.
Another hugely important but not-so-popular character that makes its entrance in Blood of Zeus Season 2 is Typhon. Given his strength, he would have vanquished the Olympians in their last fight had the Olympians not have Zeus by their side.
Typhon’s power is shown to be contained in the Eleusinian stone as some elemental force. As Gaia brings him back by the end of Season 2, a huge showdown now awaits between him and the Olympians.
Blood of Zeus can be streamed on Netflix.
