For those wondering where to stream it or what to expect, we’ve rounded up everything you need to know from the schedule to the streaming options and the cast updates that make this spinoff truly special.
When will Boston Blue Season 1 Episode 2 release? Here’s what you need to know
Following a premiere that pulled in fans of Blue Bloods as well as a new set of viewers, Boston Blue Season 1 continues its weekly run every Friday night, and Episode 2, titled “Teammates,” will officially release on October 24, 2025, at 10 p.m. ET. on CBS.
The official synopsis for the second episode reads;
“Lena and Danny are pulled into a high-stakes murder investigation when a whistleblower tied to one of Mae’s court cases is found dead. Meanwhile, Jonah and Sean prepare for their first official day on the job.”
From the description alone, it’s clear that the episode will look further into questions of justice and family, which are themes that the show's predecessor has managed fairly well.
Donnie Wahlberg, who has made a comeback to play Danny Reagan, spoke about his excitement for this new show/spin-off during a screening on October 14. He said;
“Suddenly it was like, ‘Do I really wanna do a spinoff?’ I didn’t know...”
However, he mentions how his hesitations faded away once he read the script.
“And this idea was really good. And the script was really good. I looked at it and I saw the possibilities of weaving Blue Bloods’ world into it, and I saw a chance to play Danny in a different way.”
Where to stream Boston Blue Season 1 Episode 2 after it airs
For those who will not be able to watch the live broadcast, there’s no need to worry and panic. Boston Blue Season 1 airs on CBS, and every episode becomes available to stream online the next day on Paramount+.
For those of you who already have the Paramount+ Premium plan can watch the show live and on demand, while the rest of you can stream the latest episode the very next day.
Plus, for those who want to re-watch the entirety of Blue Bloods, all of the 14 seasons can be found on Paramount+ as well.
Wahlberg also shared in May 2025 that fans have plenty to look forward to. While in an interview with TVLine, he shared;
“Danny’s story will continue the Reagan family’s. You can’t have Danny without Reagans...There’ll be connective tissue to the old family. But we’re also going to get to discover a new family and carry on the tradition of telling their stories and still telling the Reagan stories.”
The cast that brings Boston Blue Season 1 to life
Part of the charm of Boston Blue Season 1 is in its fresh yet familiar cast lineup. Along with Donnie Wahlberg’s Danny Reagan, the spin-off stars Sonequa Martin-Green as Detective Lena Silver, Danny’s smart and determined new partner who comes from a well-known law enforcement family.
Joining the two of them are Marcus Scribner as Jonah Silver, Mika Amonsen as Sean Reagan, Maggie Lawson as Sarah Silver, Gloria Reuben as Mae Silver, and Ernie Hudson as Reverend Peters.
With a cast like this, Episode 2 is expected to further character dynamics even more. The new Boston setting also gives the show a different feel as it's faster, grittier, and a bit more unpredictable.
With Boston Blue Season 1 Episode 2 just around the corner, the excitement is real among the fans. Between Wahlberg’s return, the new storyline, and the blend of old and new characters, the spinoff seems to be finding its rhythm faster than expected.
Whether you’re tuning in live on CBS or catching up on Paramount+, next week’s “Teammates” promises another exciting night in Danny Reagan’s world, and it’s one no fan should miss.
