So, when creator Vince Gilligan's Pluribus came to light, fans of the show were quick to rally around the creator's latest project with Apple TV.Gilligan even admits that the pressure of working on something after the phenomenon that was Breaking Bad was debilitating at times. However, he had a mission to prove to himself that he wasn't a "one-trick pony," and thus Apple TV's Pluribus came to life. Gilligan, however, looks back on his days with Breaking Bad and finds himself trying not to commit a mistake from back then.In a recent conversation with Virgin Radio UK, Gilligan revealed that at the time when he was creating Breaking Bad, he had a lot of avenues to speak on the show. In those avenues, he talked a lot about what he thought the show meant while creating it and what he thought certain actions meant. These statements ensured that certain meanings and themes were forever etched in the show, citing the creator's thoughts."The one mistake I felt like I made (I'm very proud of that show) was that I started to talk to the fans and I started saying, "I think this is what it means" and "I think Walt should do this." I became this thing where I was laying out the theme of the show, and what I thought it was about or what I thought it wasn't about. And I feel like that's a mistake I don't want to make with Pluribus."This, according to him, held Breaking Bad back, as it didn't leave space for the audience's thoughts and their versions of what they thought the show was about. Gilligan explains that this is the one mistake he isn't willing to commit with Pluribus. So, this time around, he offers no personal thoughts on what he thinks the show is about, whether it's all-consuming Artificial Intelligence, technology in general, the pandemic, or anything else. He's decided to leave that understanding with the audience for them to describe what they feel the show is about and for them to make sense of it when they watch it."I want the audience, the folks listening who watch the show and hopefully dig it, I want them to tell me what it's about. Does it make us think of AI? Does it make us think of the worldwide pandemic? Does it make us think of a great many things? Perhaps. But that is up to other people, the folks watching, the folks listening to tell me what it means."Therefore, this time around, Vince Gilligan is leaving behind the tiresome job of explaining his shows to the audience and letting them form their own conclusions and tell him what they think it's about.Pluribus Season 1 is now streaming on Apple TV!Keep reading Soap Central for more such interesting insights on your favorite shows!
