The buzz around Bridgerton Season 4 is reaching a fever pitch as Shondaland is ready to turn the spotlight on the second Bridgerton sibling, Benedict.

The upcoming season of Netflix's hit period drama will be based on Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series' third book, An Offer from a Gentleman. In this season, the viewers will be introduced to a new lead, Sophie, Benedict's love interest (portrayed by Yerin Ha).

So get ready to witness a romantic journey laced with class tensions, secrets, and the signature scandals that keep the ton talking.

Ahead of its release, fans have been getting lots of exciting updates — from new cast members to behind-the-scenes news. But the latest tease comes with a musical twist.

During the celebratory event, Shondaland's 20-year music, music composer, Kris Bowers, revealed that Bridgerton Season 4's music will mostly have fresh tracks with a subtle connection to Queen Charlotte, showcasing underrepresented voices in the high society. He said,

“I created a slightly different sound, which was a lot of fun in terms of fresh instrumentation and approach to the music for the Bridgerton world. There’s a slight connection to Queen Charlotte for me [personally] because of the fact that you’re seeing people who are maybe not as commonly seen in high society.”

During Netflix's event, Bridgerton's showrunner Jess Brownell gave some tidbits about the music of the upcoming season 4. She revealed that the music will be mainly based on classic rock and would include modern music as well to balance it. Additionally, Bowers revealed that there would be a Taylor Swift cover.

Kris Bowers on creating music for Bridgerton

The 36-year-old music composer, director, and pianist has composed music for several projects, including Green Book, Mrs. America, When They See Us, and The Wild Robot.

In an event celebrating Shondaland's musical journey, Kris Bowers, when asked about the global domination of Bridgerton tracks, revealed how he composed the tracks for the show. He shared how Shondaland encouraged him to experiment with the music and gave him creative space to come up with the tracks.

During the process, after he experimented with the classic tracks, he shifted his focus to modern-day pop music. Bowers continued,

“Once we found the sound of this show, I realized I could explore any style or genre. I remember hearing the Thank U, Next' cover in the first episode and realizing that it created this subconscious connection to these characters because now these people hear a style of music that they know, so they can see themselves in this role a bit more.”
