Brilliant Minds is all set to premiere with its second season this fall, and according to reports from Deadline, there are two new additions to the series regulars before Season 2 premieres.
Brian Altemus, who plays Dr. Charlie Porter, and John Clarence Stewart, who plays Dr. Anthony Thorne, have been added to the cast list for the upcoming season. Here's everything we know so far.
Brian Altemus and John Clarence Stewart join Brilliant Minds Season 2 as series regulars

Brilliant Minds Zachary Quinto's Dr. Oliver Wolf, an expert but unconventional neurologist. Dr. Wolf's character is based on the real-life revolutionary neurologist, physicist, and author Dr. Oliver Sacks. The show follows Dr. Wolf's cases, which are inspired by Dr. Sacks's cases, and he uses his unorthodox approach to patient care in a truly revolutionary manner.
Even though a genius unorthodox doctor trope has been used more times than can be counted, the fact that Dr. Wolf's character and cases have real-life source materials adds a different level of integrity and perspective to Brilliant Minds.
Season 1 of the drama series was one of the most-watched shows for the network when it premiered, and hopefully, the second season will keep the momentum going, especially with the addition of the two new regular cast members.
Brian Altemus will be joining the cast as Dr. Charlie Porter, who is a neurology scientist, but for whom medicine is a winning sport instead of a calling. He's portrayed as extremely competitive and guarded, and to make things worse, he's hiding something really big from his fellow doctors. Altemus was previously seen in projects such as The Time Traveler's Wife, Grand Army, and Shelter.
Next up, John Clarence Stewart is also joining the cast as Dr. Anthony Thorne. Dr. Thorne is a charming yet acerbic man, and he has grown too comfortable in emergency medicine, something he considers blue-collar work. He ends up in direct conflict with Dr. Wolf over their opposing philosophies of a little help for all or the most help for a few. Stewart has worked on projects such as P-Valley, Marvel's Luke Cage, and Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist.
The cast list also includes Ashleigh LaThrop, Tamberla Perry, Alex MacNicoll, Spence Moore II, Aury Krebs, Mandy Patinkin, Donna Murphy, and Teddy Sears.
Brilliant Minds is on NBC's fall 2025 schedule, so it will premiere sometime in September or October and will continue to air on Mondays at 10/9c. The exact premiere date is yet to be confirmed.
In a recent conversation with TV Insider, showrunner Michael Grassi revealed that Oliver finding out about his dad could play a huge role in Season 2, as there is a lot to unpack:
"Oliver is about to take on his greatest medical mystery yet and potentially his most challenging patient yet. So I feel like him and his father have a lot to work out, and at the same time he is going to help him deal with something that nobody else has been able to help him deal with...I think it’ll bring up a lot that we need to work through and unpack in a Season 2."
Brilliant Minds Season 2 is all set to be an exciting ride for fans.
