Brilliant Minds Season 2 Episode 3 was the first episode in the sophomore season not to feature a Hudson Oaks flash forward, but it was equally intense and exciting. Amidst a sea of patients, dynamics are changing at Bronx General. While Carol and two of Dr. Wolf's interns spent the episode exposing the snitch who reported against Carol, the hospital welcomed a new Chief Medical Officer in Josh. Dr. Wolf, who had previously been working for his mother, will now have his ex-boyfriend as his boss. Things are bound to get awkward between the two.

The case in Brilliant Minds Season 2 Episode 3 was of a woman named Gloria, who was allegedly pushed on a subway track. While she was saved by Dana's girlfriend, her charge (Adam) is the only suspect in the assault. But the problem, as Michelle communicates to Wolf's team, is that Adam is autistic and nonspeaking. He does not prefer language as his preferred way of communication and with Gloria unconscious, he could be arrested at any moment for the physical altercation at the subway. Wolf and team had to race against time and prove Adam's innocence in Gloria's case.

Were they able to prove Adam's innocence? Did Gloria survive? Did Carol find out her snitch at the hospital?

Here is the complete Brilliant Minds Season 2 Episode 3 recap.

Brilliant Minds Season 2 Episode 3 recap: A difficult case for Wolf and team

While Adam's case was difficult for Wolf and team in Brilliant Minds Season 2 Episode 3, Wolf reminds them that humans have been communicating for millions of years, even without spoken language. They use Van's mirror-touch synesthesia to discover that Adam is in distress about something and continues saying the word 'saya'. Wolf realizes that Adam is hypersensitive to noise and he used music to calm him down. Next, he asks Van and Michelle to visit Adam's group home and gather information about him.

Van and Michelle talk to Adam's roommate, who tells them that Adam is approaching the age of leaving the group home and he is terrified about it. They also see drawings in his room and realize that he uses art to communicate. Back at the hospital, time was running out and Wolf and his team gave Adam a pen and paper to draw. Adam drew a butterfly and Wolf realised that the word he was saying repeatedly is not 'saya' but 'Say ah', the term doctors use to ask a patient to open their mouth. He is signalling that Gloria is sick.

In Brilliant Minds Season 2 Episode 3, Wolf further deciphers the butterfly, which points to Gloria's lupus. Thanks to a unique symptom (butterfly-shaped rash), Wolf was able to understand Adam and it was because of Gloria's lupus that she passed out at the subway station. Gloria is finally given steroids and wakes up to confirm Adam's innocence. She confesses that she fainted and fell on the tracks. Adam finally finds a permanent home with Gloria.

Brilliant Minds Season 2 Episode 3 recap: Changing dynamics at Bronx

Ever since Carol learned that Allison had not reported her in Brilliant Minds Season 2, she was having trust issues at the hospital and wondered who had snitched against her. Ericka joined the investigation too, frustrated by a system that lets Wolf act without consequence while Carol lost her job over a single mistake.

Dr. Thorne helped Carol realize that knowing the snitch would not make her better at her job. Now that she has gotten this second chance with her patients, she should make the most of it. He offers to tell her who reported against her but it is only a one-time opportunity. When the opportunity presents itself, Carol realizes that she did make a mistake and knowing the identity will actually not change anything. She controls herself and decides to move past it.

Carol might be over it, but Ericka discovers the identity of the snitch in Brilliant Minds Season 2 Episode 3, when Dana confesses. Ericka felt betrayed when she realized that her best friend had snitched against Carol and kept this from her. As Ericka confronts Dana about this, the latter shows no regret and announces that she would happily do it again. While the reason behind Dana's actions is unclear right now, it will likely drive a wedge between her and Ericka.

Brilliant Minds Season 2 Episode 3 is now streaming on Peacock.
