His whole life is being telecast as a TV show. He grows up unaware of the truth of the world. He is completely secluded from the outside world.

However, Truman is not the only one in the set. The people surrounding him are aware that he is the lead of the show. They do not tell him anything. Now, in Brilliant Minds Season 2, a similar situation is faced by a patient. A patient, Lauren, begins to suffer from delusions.

She thinks that she is being filmed continuously for a TV show. She tries to escape this situation. However, things just get worse for her. This leads her to eventually end up in the hospital. After she is diagnosed, it is revealed that she is facing a syndrome which is known as The Truman Show syndrome.

Lauren’s syndrome keeps deteriorating more and more. This leads the hospital staff to put her in isolation from others so that she does not hurt herself or others. Eventually, after conversing with Wolf, she begins to get better. Truth is revealed about Lauren’s situation.

Lauren recently went through a breakup, which put her under a lot of stress. Her stress level was elevated when her IVF treatments began. She desires to have children, for which she is ready to go to any extent that is needed. To afford the expensive IVF treatment, she even took on more work. This eventually put an immense mental load on her. All of this stress eventually led her to have the delusions.
