3Quency, a dynamic girl group consisting of Brianna Mazzola, Nori Moore, and Wennely Quezada, were crowned the winners of Netflix's Building the Band Season 1. Powerful renditions of "Have Mercy" and "Always Be My Baby" cemented their triumph, and they were awarded a $500,000 prize to launch their musical careers.
However, there were other bands making waves after the show besides 3Quency. As runners-up, the mixed-gender group SZN4 has continued to be quite active. Aaliyah Rose, Cameron Goode, Donzell Taggart, and Katie Roeder all live in various parts of the United States, they regularly travel for each other’s performances, songwriting, and recording sessions. Outside of the show, their common goal and connection keep them moving forward.
The remaining finalists are also paving their own way. Mason, Zach, Conor, and Shane from Midnight 'Til Morning got back together in Australia for recording sessions, and they are working on an album. Despite living far apart, the members of Siren Society, Autumn, Erica, Jenna D., and Noriella, stay connected through songwriting and music exchanges.
In the meantime, Sweet Seduction has officially disbanded but remain on friendly terms and open to collaborating again in the future.
Where Building the Band finalists stand today
When the Netflix cameras ceased to roll, the journey for these musicians was only beginning. Every finalist group from Building the Band has used the competition's momentum, publicity, and creative spark to launch new projects.
With each ensemble forging its own route in 2025, these musicians are demonstrating that their love for playing extends well beyond the stage by pursuing record agreements and putting out music on their own.
3Quency – From winners to work-in-progress superstars
3Quency, now officially signed as a trio, is busy planning their next chapter, which include creating a full album, touring, and changing their image. The group described their creative energy as "loud, fun, exciting, and empowering," indicating that they're far from done.
SZN4 – Building momentum with creativity and care
Despite finishing second, SZN4 has turned its runner-up performance into creative fuel. They meet on a regular basis to collaborate on original music, most recently at Aaliyah's family home in Utah. The members highlight that, while managing personal life is difficult, their dedication has kept the artistic synergy alive.
Midnight ‘Til Morning, Siren Society & Sweet Seduction – Varying paths
Midnight 'Til Morning got back together in Australia and recorded a full album, confidently pursuing a shared vision. Inspired by their strong bond, Siren Society continues to write and work together in LA studio sessions and via video chats. Sweet Seduction, though no longer a band, stays in touch. Their members have decided to follow their own creative trajectories, although a reunion is still possible.
Each Building the Band finalist group is continuing to forge its own path in 2025, from chart-topping aspirations to grassroots inventiveness. They are demonstrating that the fame of Netflix's music competition is only the beginning, not the conclusion, whether they are working together or going it alone.
