One of the executive producers of The Road, Keith Urban, opened up about the show. He shared that it was about 12 musicians going on a tour with him. They would get to see what it was like to be on the road away from their families.

"The Road is a show about 12 musicians on a tour with me getting to see what's it like to be on the road away from their families," shared Keith.

Sharing more about the competition and the show, tour manager Gretchen Wilson talked about the winning amount, benefits, and more. It included a record contract, a quarter of a million dollars, and an opportunity to perform on stage.

The official synopsis for the show reads:

"Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan are the executive producers of this show where aspiring artists will compete to become the next big music star while touring with a headlining superstar."

Another cast member, Cassidy Daniels, noted that it felt surreal. The promo also revealed that every day, musicians would be in a different city, facing a different crowd.

One more musician from the CBS show, Adam Sanders, confessed to the cameras:

"I think what makes me different is just the passion in which I sing."

Further, the promo featured tour manager Gretchen Wilson talking about Taylor Sheridan, one of the executive producers of the show. She noted that being a part of the reality show was exciting because of him.
