The Gilded Age Season 3 saw a hilarious technical glitch when the seventh episode of its latest season streamed on HBO Max and accidently played the episode in Spanish. Created by Julian Fellowes, the historical drama features Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Blake Ritson, and others.

The period drama is set during the years of 1800s in New York City and focuses on the conflicts between the new money Russell family and the old money van Rhijn-Brook family. The two families are neighbors on the Fifth Avenue on the Upper East Side of New York and the series explores the tussle between old and new money, the African-American upper class, and the domestic workers.

The series has received rave reviews, particularly the performance of Carrie Coon, and even the actress reacted to the accidental language swap that happened when The Gilded Age Season 3 Episode 7 played in Spanish on HBO Max.

On social media, users were quick to notice that the HBO drama, has suffered from a hilarious technical fault. Even though HBO Max has a default English-language setting, the 7th episode of the latest season of the show, played in Spanish.

The Daily Beast’s Kevin Fallon wrote on X that “@hbomax The Gilded Age is currently only playing in Spanish on my app and I cannot follow what is happening to Señora Russell. Help! Ayuda!

Even Carrie Coon, the lead actress of the show, poked fun at the glitch that occurred and wrote on X, “¿A todos les gustó mi acento? [Did everyone like my accent?]”

Ultimately, people figured out that the glitch could be resolved by playing around with the platform’s settings and ironically changing the audio to Spanish (Latin America) for the English version. According to Deadline, the issue has since been resolved.
