Celebrity contestants were faced with more than just spins and puzzles during the Celebrity Wheel of Fortune episode 4, they also had to contend with surprising rule changes and epic comebacks from other stars. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White, Season 6 Episode 4 was an unforgettable night of firsts including a new “Tongue Twister” category, a “Yellow” puzzle (the signature song from Coldplay) and an unbelievable $38,000 comeback that had people talking!

The candidates were challenged to compete for charity under pressure, but the test this week was about more than knowledge; it tested timing, nerves — and the ability to recover when things just aren’t going your way. Actor Michael Zegen, actress-comedian Alex Borstein, and director-actor Paul Feig all performed passionately while standing in for various charitable causes.

A total of $78,900 has been raised that night for charity. And the show made clear that Celebrity Wheel of Fortune is still a game of high stakes and wily strategy with new categories and old twists. The spinning would be as unforgettable to the audience as the comeback.

Celebrity Wheel of Fortune season 6 episode 4: Big twists & bigger comebacks

Celebrity Wheel of Fortune made two big moves in Episode 4: the addition of the all-new "Tongue Twister" puzzle category and a Coldplay-inspired puzzle so difficult that it led to major momentum shifts either way. The contestants faced bankruptcies, tense solves and even a dramatic comeback in Game 2 featuring one player who turned on the jets late. The stakes were higher than normal, with three rounds per game and charity money up for grabs, and players reacted appropriately.

Game 1 highlights: Tongue twister & coldplay puzzle

Paul Feig surged ahead in the first game, solving the question "HOW MUCH WOOD WOULD A WOODCHUCK CHUCK" under the brand-new "Tongue Twister" category and earning $7,500 in spite of numerous bankruptcies in the process.

Feig's total reached $34,000 at the end of Game 1 after the puzzle later revealed "YELLOW BY COLDPLAY" under the "Song/Artist" category, which he nailed for an extra $20,500. Alex Borstein trailed behind Michael Zegen, who remained steady at $21,100, at $2,000 in the meantime.

Contestants were put to the test in unexpected ways by the new category, which forced them to step outside of their comfort zones and think quickly. Feig's early dominance set the tone, demonstrating that on the Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, flexibility is just as crucial as puzzle-smarts.

Game 2 turnaround: Borstein’s comeback & charity win

The momentum drastically changed in Game 2. Feig took the lead once more, appearing safe and resolving several toss-ups. But by the third round, Alex Borstein had transformed her starting $2,000 into a strong push, leading to a spectacular finish that helped her reach a late $43,000+ total. Her comeback helped raise a significant amount of money for charities.

Behind the scenes, the return highlighted a crucial aspect of the game show: in the last moments, pressure, timing, and luck all come together. Despite his consistency, Zegen was unable to match Borstein's late surge, which caused the night's charity total to soar to $78,900.

Episode 4 demonstrated that the Celebrity Wheel of Fortune is still anything but predictable, with high-risk rounds, new puzzles, and a significant reversal. The wheel has the ability to change reputations, charities, and fortunes all in one spin.
