The latest Hulu comedy, Chad Powers, continues to find its audience with the clichéd underdog humor, but the creator has a brand-new role in mind for his leading actor, Glenn Powell. Based around an absurd premise, Glenn Powell's washed-up quarterback reinvents his appearance with some latex for a second chance at life and football.
The premise stems from a sketch by quarterback Eli Manning, which was later adapted into the Hulu comedy series by Glenn Powell and Michael Waldron. In the latest round of press for Chad Powers, Waldron, who is also the writer and co-creator behind Marvel projects such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Loki, revealed a role that he thinks would be very well suited to Powell.

Loki co-creator thinks that the Chad Powers actor could be a good fit for Richard Rider

The Marvel Cinematic Universe first introduced the Nova Corps in Guardians of the Galaxy, leading to the announcement of a new Nova project. However, recent changes at Marvel Studios have led to the project being left on the back burner. This came after Marvel's decision to stop focusing on multiple shows and instead scale back on certain quality stories, as confirmed by Brad Winderbaum:
"We developed Nova, we developed Strange Academy. We develop a few shows, some of them get redeveloped, some of them get kind of paused for a little bit to be revisited later."
The Nova plans on hold were disappointing news for many fans, but a recent mention from Waldron, even if it's no confirmation, has brought life back to these hopes.
The Chad Powers creator, Michael Waldron, in a recent conversation with The Playlist, revealed that, according to him, Glenn Powell would be a good fit for Richard Rider's Nova.
"He's be a pretty good Nova"
The Chad Powers star has not been a major part of any Marvel project or a DC project for that matter to date, except for a small role in The Dark Knight Rises, so maybe this could be the actor's entry into the world of superheroes.

Talking about whether he'd like to be a part of the Marvel or the DCU world, Powell revealed in a recent comment:
"You know, I've never gotten a call from DC or Marvel, but I'm a fan of everything they do. I just saw Deadpool & Wolverine. I freaking had a blast. I think what Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds did with that is extraordinary and just such a fun flavor for audiences. And I cheer for them, and I love what [they do.] I think James Gunn, Peter Safran, and what they're doing at DC - I think it's going to be really, really good for that business. So, it's like, yeah, I cheer them all on. I'm a big fan of the movies."
If Marvel were to bring back to life the Nova plans, the Chad Powers actor would definitely be interested in being part of the project.
