The character, Max Martini, who plays a new role in the 14th Season of Chicago Fire, is a familiar face to many fans from Bosch: Legacy. He has been seen on set wearing his uniform, as it's being predicted that he is being cast as a "Deputy District Chief." Many viewers are highly excited over this casting, as they believe that his new role may potentially change much in regards to the Firefighters at Firehouse 51.

The Chicago Fire season 14 premiere aired in October 2025, following the network's renewal of this show. There are some changes coming to Season 14; a number of existing characters will be leaving and/or taking a step back from their positions, while other characters will be introduced. One of the main changes that Season 14 has in store is the casting of Max Martini as Deputy District Chief. If it is true, he will have a lot of say in how everything operates within the CFD; therefore, the scale of authority at Firehouse 51 may be dramatically altered.

What we know so far is that a photograph from the set shows Martini wearing the CFD jacket for a Deputy District Chief. This seems to confirm his position, though his character's name has not yet been revealed. Producers have not yet said whether he will be a guest star or a recurring character.

Fans of Bosch: Legacy know Martini for his work there. His move to Chicago Fire draws interest not only because of his past performances, but because his role may carry weight for the station and the storyline.

What could the casting mean for Chicago Fire?

If Martini's character remains Deputy District Chief, he could hold real power over what happens at Firehouse 51. In Chicago Fire, Firehouse 51 has been under pressure lately. Budget cuts and cast exits have shaken up the station's stability. For example, some regulars have left or stepped back this season.

At times like this, having a high-ranking officer on their side could help the firefighters. A Deputy District Chief could protect the station, help them get funding, and perhaps keep key members around. The arrival of Martini's character might give Firehouse 51 a shot at avoiding further cuts or closures.

But the opposite is also possible. If the new Deputy District Chief does not side with Firehouse 51, the station could be in deeper trouble. With authority over multiple firehouses, a Deputy District Chief could decide to favor other stations. That could leave Firehouse 51 vulnerable, especially with recent departures and changes.

Because the show hasn't revealed the character’s name or full role yet, we can't know for sure if Martini's character will help or hurt Firehouse 51. For now, viewers are left guessing.

What we still don't know and what to watch for in the upcoming episodes of Chicago Fire?

There are many open questions now. First, the name of Max Martini's character has not been revealed. We don't know how long he will be part of the show, whether it will be a short arc or a long-term addition.

Second, we don't know how his character will interact with the existing team. The main leadership role at Firehouse 51 in Chicago Fire currently goes to Dom Pascal, played by Dermot Mulroney. Pascal took over the post after the departure of the longtime Chief Wallace Boden. Boden had served as Chief for many seasons before stepping back.

Third, there is no confirmation yet whether Martini's role will help Firehouse 51 fight the budget cuts and possible downsizing that the CFD has faced. The station has already lost some members. Finally, we don't know when exactly we will meet the new Deputy District Chief on the show. But since production continues through December and Chicago Fire has a winter break, his first appearance will likely come after the show returns in early 2026.

As viewers get ready for the next episodes of Chicago Fire, the addition of Max Martini brings both promise and mystery. Will his new character help secure Firehouse 51's future, or will he stir more trouble for the team struggling under budget and morale pressure? Only time and new episodes will tell.
