Chicago Fire Season 14 is bringing some fresh faces to the screens. Brandon Larracuente has already joined the cast as Firefighter Sal Vasquez, and as per a new casting update, an acclaimed actor who was seen in The X-Files has also been signed for an important role in the show.
Annabeth Gish, who starred as Special Agent Monica Reyes in The X-Files, is going to play a guest role in Chicago Fire Season 14. She will star as Annette Davis, the mayor’s chief of staff, who is expected to stir up trouble for Firehouse 51.
Though it is a guest role, Gish’s character will be seen in multiple episodes of the season. The actress’ recent credits include the shows Pretty Little Liars and Lioness. The 14th season of the procedural drama is all set to premiere on NBC on October 1, 2025.
Annabeth Gish to star as Annette Davis in Chicago Fire Season 14
Annabeth Gish will make her first appearance as Annette Davis in the very first episode of Chicago Fire Season 14, which will be broadcast on NBC on October 1, 2025. However, her story would not be limited to the premiere, and it will instead last multiple episodes.
Annette Davis has been described as the Chief of Staff of the mayor. Since the Firehouse 51 department is already confirmed to get some budget cuts, Davis might shake things up for the team.
As per showrunner Andrea Newman, Davis is going to have a complicated relationship with Battalion Chief Dominick "Dom" Pascal. At the same time, the character has been shrouded in mystery as it is not revealed what her real intentions are. Newman said:
“It’s an interesting dynamic that she will have with Pascal. We’re not so sure about her intentions right off the bat. She’s a bit of a mystery.”
Gish is well known for playing Monica Reyes in The X-Files. She has also starred in the shows Mayfair Witches, Halt and Catch Fire, Sons of Anarchy, The Bridge, and Brotherhood. Her film credits include Rim of the World, Double Jeopardy, Before I Wake, and Charlie Says.
Chicago Fire Season 14 will continue to explore the lives of the firefighters, rescue personnel, and paramedics of Firehouse 51. The show will pick up after the previous season’s finale, where Christopher Herrmann stepped down from the Captain position and became a regular firefighter.
Meanwhile, Carver decided to leave the department and move to Denver to have a fresh start. While Annabeth Gish has joined the ensemble in the new season, two main cast members have exited the series. Daniel Kyri and Jake Lockett are confirmed not to return as Darren Ritter and Sam Carver in the upcoming season.
On the other hand, the actors who are confirmed to return include Dermont Mulroney as Dom Pascal, Taylor Kinney as Kelly Severide, Joe Miñoso as Joe Cruz, David Eigenberg as Christopher Herrmann, Miranda Rae Mayo as Stella Kidd, Christian Stolte as Randall "Mouch" McHolland, Jocelyn Hudon as Lyla Novak, and Hanako Greensmith as Violet Mikami.
