Chicago Med Season 11 Episode 6 recap

Episode 6 was all about an emotional farewell and heartbreak. At the centre of all of it was Sharon Goodwin, who faced a devastating crisis when her former husband Bert suffered a medical emergency. The episode opened with the family gathering at the hospital. What should have been a quiet farewell turned into a storm of family tension. When it was revealed that Bert had a directive refusing surgery, David rebelled against the decision, determined to save his father.

However, his siblings weren't thrilled about him being so involved after being away for years. Even amid the chaos and blame, David found what he believed was a legal loophole that could override Bert's directive. Soon, David revealed that Bert wasn't his biological father. Sharon explained how he conceived David before she met Bert. Bert accepted her and her unborn baby without hesitation. He loved David as his own. The final goodbye was quite emotional.

In the ER, Dr. Frost and Dr. Novak worked together on two kids who were brought in after being stung by hornets. Elsewhere, we see how Frost was turned down by Naomi. As she reconsiders her decision, looking for him, she walks into Frost and Novak laughing together in the hallway. Cue heartbreak.

Also, Ripley and Sadie's relationship hit a breaking point. Sadie felt Ripley wanted to control her, but he was just being protective. By the end of this episode, the relationships were left in fragile pieces. Godwin said goodbye to Bert, Naomi lost her moment with Frost, as well as Ripley lost Sadie. This episode reminds us that Chicago Med isn't your regular medical drama; it's much more than that. It's about life and its difficult choices.
