We saw that Dr. Lenox survived the scary attack from Devon. She went to Faye's house to help her. Devon attacked Lenox and trapped her in his basement. Dr. Mitch Ripley arrived to help, but Devon captured him as well. The situation took a deadly turn after Faye grabbed a gun and shot her abusive husband.

Later, the doctors, in support of Dr. Ripley, told the police they only defended themselves. A detective questioned their story because things looked suspicious. This shocking twist changed everything for the staff on Chicago Med. The brave survivors experienced a safe but uncertain future, and legal issues began for the hospital team due to the ongoing investigation process.

The Retirement of Dr. Charles

In this episode of Chicago Med, we also saw Dr. Charles struggle with exhaustion during a very emotional week. A difficult choice regarding a heart transplant pushed him to the limit after he visited a new therapist to discuss his heavy workload. A patient named Linda overdosed on her medication before the surgery.

Dr. Charles gave the heart to another person on the waiting list instead. Linda's sister yelled at him, expressing her deep anger. This intense conflict made the doctor question his entire career. He told his therapist that he was planning to retire soon. He weighed his future options very carefully.

Dr. Archer in trouble

Dr. Archer experienced a massive crisis in Chicago Med when Gaffney Chicago Medical Center lost power. He treated a patient named Jeremy who required urgent surgery. The doctor ignored the darkness and started performing the risky operation anyway. He wanted Jeremy to survive and meet his newborn baby.

Sharon Goodwin and the board began to hate this dangerous decision. They thought that this medical risk could put the hospital in jeopardy. But Jeremy survived the surgical procedure and held his child at last. This intense drama shocked the audience. Archer defended his bold choices as the hospital leaders questioned his future.
