Chicago P.D. is a police procedural series that has been created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead. The show is a part of the Chicago franchise and has an ensemble cast featuring Sophia Bush, Archie Kao, Jason Beghe, and others. The show has 12 seasons till now and has been airing since 2014.
The thrilling series follows the uniformed patrol officers and the Intelligence Unit of the 21st District of the Chicago Police Department as they try to stop crimes like organized crime and murders that happen in the city. The show is a spin-off of Chicago Fire and also focuses on the personal and professional lives of the officers.
Recently, with the news of actress Toya Turner’s exit from Chicago P.D. and the death of Shawn Hatosy’s character, Deputy Chief Charlie Reid, the show looks at a major overhaul in its upcoming 13th season. Therefore, actress Arienne Mandi has been roped in to join the cast of the show in Season 13. Here’s what we know.
Arienne Mandi joins Chicago P.D. Season 13

Actress Arienne Mandi, who has been seen in The Night Agent, Tatami, and other projects, has been roped in to play a series regular in Chicago P.D. Season 13. According to Deadline, Arienne Mandi will play the character of officer Naomi Kerr. Her character will be described as a former soldier and a military contractor, who is brave and courageous. Kerr will bring a new strength and energy to the team of Chicago P.D. and the character will thrive in dangerous situations. Naomi’s character will be interesting as she will be a fearless outsider who has an element of mystery to herself.
However, names and character descriptions could change at any stage of the production. Arienne Mandi joins the show at a time when Toya Turner informed recently that she will exit the NBC police procedural as Kiana Cook and will not appear in Season 13. According to an interview with Deadline, Turner states that she was “grateful for the time I had brining Kiana to life”.
How Arienne Mandi’s joining, changes things on Chicago P.D.

The departure of Toya Turner’s character Kiana Cook and the arrival of Arienne Mandi’s character Naomi Kerr, happens at a time when there are a lot of things happening in the show. On the one hand, there is the murder of Deputy Chief Charlie Reid, which was orchestrated by Sergeant Hank Voight. And on the other, while Detective Kim Burgess and Officer Dante Torres have been let go after the latter’s affair with his CI and the former covering it up, there is no telling what could happen in the future.
Chicago P.D. airs on NBC and streams the next day on Peacock.
