AppleTV+'s Chief of War Episode 8 is all set to drop on the upcoming Friday, ie, September 12, 2025, 12 am ET onwards. Titled The Sacred Niu Grove, the penultimate episode of the season will follow the aftermath of the events of the British attack on the Hawaiian Village. Despite Ka'iana's warnings, Kamehameha chose to trust Captain Metcalfe and Marley and spared them their lives. He gave them food and water and instructed them to leave. However, the captain and his crew brutally attacked a Hawaiian village on the outer banks, leaving several natives dead. Even Vai sacrificed her life during the brutal attack. When Ka'iana reached the spot, it was already late. The episode closed with Ka'iana seething with rage and helplessness.

Chief of War Episode 8 will shift focus to Keoua, who, now with assurance from King Kahekili, plans to attack his cousin Kamehameha.

With war on both fronts, will Kamehameha still advocate peace, or will he finally lead the war? No matter what, war is not an option but a necessity for survival.

Chief of War Episode 7 Day of Spilled Brains proved that Ka'iana's warnings about the foreigners were true, and Kamehameha's law for protection and peace was not sufficient to safeguard the natives. Captain Metcalfe ordered his men to attack a Hawaiian village where several innocents lost their lives, including Vai.

Previously, Ka'iana, Tony, and Nahi sailed to the British vessel and held the captain hostage. However, Kamehameha interfered, and Ka'iana was bound to release the Captain. Even though Ka'iana warned Kamehameha several times about the ill intentions of the Britishers, Kamehameha did not pay heed to him. Ka'iana was shattered when he came to know that it was Kupouhi who informed about his secret mission. Ka'iana walked away and so did Nahi, who was furious with Kupouhi and Namake. Nahi pointed out that they were betraying Ka'iana by not informing him about their closeness during his absence.

Elsewhere, Kupouhi wasn't too elated about Ka'iana seeking Ka'ahumanu's advice. She even confronted Ka'iana about this and said that he had changed.

Chief of War Episode 8 will release on September 12, 2025, on AppleTV+. In the upcoming episode, Keoua might attack Kamehameha's Kohala district. Previously, he burned the foot storage huts of the Kohala district, a direct warning to them. In return, Kamehameha, instead of attacking Keoua, wanted to seek an alliance with him to stop King Kahekili. However, Keoua, who was determined to remove Kamehameha from the position of War God, sought King Kahekili's help. King Kahekili agreed to send him help on certain conditions. Thus, with more manpower, Keoua seems ready to attack Kamehameha's district.

The title of Chief of War Episode 8, The Sacred Niu Grove, holds importance. In Hawaiian culture, it represents sacred forested areas, which are often considered abodes of deities or ancestral spirits who protect the natives.
