Apple TV+'s popular show Chief of War is finally coming to an end.
Chief of War Episode 9, titled The Black Desert is all set to release on Friday, September 19, 2025, on Apple TV+. The finale episode is expected to be an hour long and will feature the long-awaited war sequence of Kamehameha and Ka'iana vs Keoau and Kahekili.
Previously, in Chief of War Episode 8, Keoua attacked the sacred Niu grove in the Kohala district. Heke and Nahi, who were resting nearby, were taken to Keoua by his men. Nahi attacked Keoua, and after an intense brawl, Nahi was overpowered, and Keoua killed him by smashing a rock on his head in front of Heke. Nahi's death left Ka'iana burning with rage.
Elsewhere, King Kahekili's brutalities reached extremes, and he stabbed his son Kupoule. When Kamehameha came to know about the overseer priests and Nahi's death, he finally agreed to delve into war.
With Ka'ahumanu and mostly Kupouhi's insistence about the advantages of using red mouth weapons, Kamehameha joined hands with Ka'iana. The episode ended with Namake, Ka'iana, and Kamehameha standing on a cliff, and the warriors preparing for the intense battle ahead.

Chief of War Episode 9, titled The Black Desert is all set to release on Friday, September 19, 2025, on Apple TV+. The finale episode of Chief of War will be available to stream at 12 AM ET onwards. For West Coast viewers, the episode will be available to watch on Thursday night.

Chief of War Episode 8: A quick recap
Episode 8 hits hard. From the opening scenes of bodies lying scattered on the beach after Captain Metcalfe's attack to Nahi's unfortunate death at the hands of Keoua, most of the sequences were nerve-wracking.
The sacred Niu grove becomes a scene of horror as Keoua slaughters Nahi in front of his wife, Heke. Ka'iana breaks down when he learns about Nahi's death, and he seeks revenge. In the council, Moku points a finger at Ka'iana, which widens the rift with Kamehameha.
At such a difficult stage, Kupouhi and Ka'ahumanu plan to reunite Ka'iana and Kamehameha for the betterment of the Kohala district. Kupouhi urges Kamehameha to unite with Ka'iana and use the red-mouthed weapons before more lives are lost. Kamehameha faces the truth. He and Ka'iana find common ground, ready to stand against the enemies closing in.
