Jason Momoa is all set to roll out his Chief of War on Apple TV+ on August 1, 2025. Chief of War is a nine-part show executive-produced by Momoa himself, along with Thomas Pa'a Sibbett. Both Momoa and Sibbett are descendants of native Hawaiian heritage, and Chief of War will be centered around the unification and the subsequent colonization of the Hawaiian islands at the turn of the eighteenth century.

The upcoming show will make its debut on Apple TV+ on August 1 with the first two episodes. The rest of the episodes will be dropping on the streaming platform every Friday till September 19. The complete release schedule is as follows:

The Apple TV+ show will be set against the picturesque background of the Hawaiian islands at the turn of the eighteenth century. As per the official synopsis:
"Performend by a predominantly Polynesian cast led by Jason Momoa, Chief of War follows the epic and unprecedented telling of the unification and colonization of Hawai'i at the turn of the 18th century. What's the latest buzz about the Apple TV+ show?

Apart from being the executive producer, Jason Momoa also dons the director's cap for the season finale. Additionally, Doug Jung serves as the executive producer along with Sibbett, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Brian Andrew Mendoza, and Tracey Cook. Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer has written the theme music as well as co-produced the background score for all of the episodes in collaboration with composer James Everingham. The first two episodes of the show have been directed by Justin Chon.
