Cinderella Man cast and characters: Here’s who brought the K-drama to life

The Cinderella Man is a Korean television series that aired in 2009. The show was directed by Yeo Jeong Joon, premiered from April 15 to June 4 of the same year, on MBC. Its star cast was Kwon Sang Woo and Lim Yoon Ah.

The play was written by Jo Yoon Young and directed by Yeo Jeong-joon, and took 16 episodes. The TV series provided a modernized version of the classic Cinderella myth. The Cinderella Man was also played by a cast comprised of renowned actors and actresses, who fascinated South Korean viewers with a romantic love story.

Is Oh Dae San and Lee Joon Hee the same character in Cinderella Man?

In The Cinderella Man, Kwon Sang Woo played a two-fold role. He played Oh Dae San and Lee Joon Hee, the two men who were the same person but led totally different lives.

Oh Dae San was a young orphan who sold clothes in the back streets of the Dongdaemun Market. He was royally endowed in height, handsomeness, and well-dressed despite his modest origins. He was obsessed with the money-making concept and had toiled as a hustler to achieve success in the merchant field.

Lee Joon Hee was the complete opposite of Dae San. He became the heir to the fashion business, which was a rich owner of a large empire, and was the second son. Joon Hee was a sporty-looking individual and had a full knowledge of what to wear, but his personality had been too arrogant, and he was not fond of nuances. He spent 19 years of his life in France, after which he went back to Korea when his father fell ill. His grandmother was the chairperson of the family company and gave him a managerial job.

Who plays Lee Jae-Min?

Song Chang Eui played the role of the eldest son of the family of the fashion empire, Lee Jae Min. Being a stepbrother of Joon Hee, Jae Min thought over everything he could do and kept in mind impeccable manners at the same time. He had a conflict with his step-grandmother, who didn't want him to inherit the company but gave it to her young and talented grandson, Joon Hee.

Relationship between Seo Yoo Jin and Lee Jae-Min

Seo Yoo Jin is the daughter of a mutual fund empire with great wealth, but a student of fashion design in Paris, and returns to Korea after her studies. She was the only woman who made Lee Jae-Min feel better since she met him in Paris.

Jae-Min thought that he must get married to Jang Sae Eun as her family was rich and powerful. Like his late mother, Joon Hee had a cardiac problem, which proved crucial to the storyline when he begged Dae San to take his place.

Kwon Sang Woo amazed the audience by playing a tough part as two people who were entirely different and shared the same skin. Im Yoon Ah played a charismatic role of the love triangle fashion designer caught in the middle. The group of actors and background characters provided much-needed depth to the Korean high fashion and family drama scenes.
