With Netflix's Cobra Kai nearing its end, many might prefer to take a step back and dig into Terry Silver's history to prepare for what's next. While the character didn't appear in the first season, his name was mentioned in the early seasons to highlight his manipulative and deceitful nature.
As seen in Cobra Kai Season 3 Episode 10, "December 19", flashbacks from 1968 reveal how Terry Silver and John Kreese were in a unit captured by the Vietnam soldiers. The two were forced into a brutal fight in which Kreese saved Terry's life, cementing Silver's lifelong loyalty to Kreese.
In the present, Kreese looks at the old photograph and makes a call. He then visits Terry at his house in Season 4, trying to convince his old friend to return to Cobra Kai. Terry initially refuses, but after realizing he cannot ignore karate, he finally joins Kreese.
As the two begin to train the students, their distinct views on the dojo’s future ignite conflict. Silver starts thinking of Kreese as his weakness and claims he has become too soft in the game. This leads Silver to undermine Kreese's leadership style, and she finally decides to betray his old companion.

Terry Silver betrayed John Kreese in Cobra Kai: Reason explored
One of the most unexpected acts of deceit in Netflix's Cobra Kai happens in Season 4 when Terry Silver, who was once saved by John Kreese, decides to betray him. Despite their shared goals, Silver sees himself as the more successful, powerful figure and believes Kreese has grown weak.
Especially when Kreese starts showing his caring side and considering his dojo's views instead of imposing his orders. As seen in Season 4 Episode 10, "The Rise," Silver's manipulative nature is at its peak as he unleashes his final move.

During his conversation with John Kreese, Silver tells him that:
"Everyone has a weakness, John. And mine is you."
John, in disbelief, reminds Terry Silver of their time in Vietnam, when he saved his life. To which Silver asks how many times he must repay the debt and ensures the police arrive to arrest Jon Kreese.
But for what? Turns out that Silver had framed Kreese into beating one of the students, Stingray. It was Terry who had brutally beaten up the student and promised to make him Cobra Kai, and in return, he asked Stingray to lie when the police asked him the name. As a result, John Kreese is arrested, and Terry Silver takes full control of the Cobra Kai dojo.
Terry Silver returns in Cobra Kai Season 6
After Kreese's arrest, Terry Silver gains full control of the Cobra Kai dojo, and to ensure they receive the best training, he recruits some of the best senseis. Silver is desperate to register his dojo in the Sekai Taikai tournament and adopts harsh methods to prepare the students.
He continues with his inhuman acts, like forcing Tory to smash a plate with her bare hands and using unethical ways to strengthen his dojo. However, by the end of Season 5, Tory exposes Silver, revealing that he bribed the referee at the All Valley tournament, followed by Daniel defeating him during a fight.
It looked like Terry Silver had been defeated and would be put behind bars, but thanks to his lawyer, who helped him escape justice. Silver then teams up with a Hong Kong-based dojo—the Iron Dragons and its Sensei Wolf.
This way, he manages to enter the Sekai Taikai tournament and avenges Daniel LaRusso by scheming his kidnap in Season 6. However, Daniel escapes and confronts Sensei Wolf to learn the truth about the man behind his kidnapping.
Before Wolf could answer Daniel, Silver said, "What would life be without surprises?" and shocked everyone with his return. As seen in the last episode, when chaos takes place, Terry Silver and his former friend Kreese get into a fight. The episode ends with leaving everyone in shock as Kwon dies.
