Gilmore Girls is heading to Hallmark Channel this August, bringing all seven seasons of the charming small‑town series to linear TV. The announcement was made on July 18, 2025, and starting Monday, August  25, viewers can tune in every weekday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time, with weekend morning airings from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

This move marks the first time the full series is being broadcast in sequence on the channel, creating a predictable watching routine that echoes traditional daily TV lineups. It’s a nod to nostalgia, designed for fans who enjoy following the Gilmore family’s stories in a structured way.

Originally released in October 2000 and concluding in May 2007, Gilmore Girls built a dedicated fan base thanks to its witty dialogue, family dynamics, and depictions of love and community in the fictional Stars Hollow. Over the years, it has appeared on streaming platforms like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+, and even on linear networks.

Now, this Hallmark Channel run arrives during the show’s 25th anniversary year, offering a new way to revisit those quick-witted conversations and mother‑daughter moments. For those who appreciate scheduled programming and who might welcome a routine of afternoon or weekend viewing, Gilmore Girls on Hallmark Channel provides a comforting, linear way to reconnect with Stars Hollow. The move also may open doors to future discussions about streaming rights and Hallmark’s app, though no changes have been announced just yet.

From August 25 onwards, Gilmore Girls will air every weekday from 2–6 p.m. and weekend mornings from 8–10 a.m. Eastern. That includes all seven seasons shown in sequence, starting with the pilot. The channel has also promised occasional marathons on special weekends or holidays.

Instead of choosing episodes, viewers simply tune in and follow the story as it unfolds naturally. This gives a predictable rhythm to watching, similar to how shows aired regularly on TV in the past.

Hallmark Channel chose the show because of its warm themes

Hallmark Channel’s leadership said Gilmore Girls fits the network because it highlights themes like love, family, and strong community bonds. VP of programming, Ayn Prince, shared that these elements are exactly what Hallmark fans enjoy.

The show’s blend of small-town warmth and character relationships aligns with the channel’s feel-good image. Even without new material, the familiar tone of the show reflects what Hallmark Channel often seeks: Comforting stories with heart and humor.

Turning 25 in 2025 gives Gilmore Girls a chance to celebrate its longevity. The WB and CW series have enjoyed lasting popularity, from their original run to streaming revivals, including the 2016 "A Year in the Life" Netflix mini‑series.

This Hallmark Channel broadcast continues that legacy by giving fans a way to watch the full story again. Starting linear showings during its anniversary year feels like a tribute to how the show shaped viewers over two and a half decades.

Viewers still have streaming options, but this offers routine

Although streaming platforms still carry Gilmore Girls, this scheduled TV run sets a different pace. Fans don’t have to decide what to watch; they simply tune in and watch. That may appeal to viewers who miss the appointment television format.

It also means communal viewing moments across households. The move doesn’t remove it from streaming; rather, it provides an alternative that blends nostalgia with convenience.

This may hint at shifts in streaming rights or future deals

Some reports note that Netflix’s rights expire in July 2026. While that doesn’t mean Hallmark Channel will become the only place to watch, the current arrangement could be a test for future syndication or streaming changes.

Fans might eventually see the show move to the Hallmark+ app, though no announcements have confirmed that. For now, the August 25 broadcast plan focuses on cable viewers and fans who enjoy scheduled TV.
