The Ransom Canyon star, who plays Staten Kirkland, discussed the idea of a potential crossover with Virgin River in a recent interview. When Us Weekly asked if he sees a crossover happening, he said that he would be willing for something like this if it were written and implemented well.

"That's the first I've ever heard of that idea. If it's good, I'm in," he added. "If it's forced, no thanks," says Duhamel.

The comparison between the two shows has been drawn because they are based on the same Robyn Carr book series. Both shows explore the deeply intertwined lives of a close-knit community of small towns, along with their personal struggles that drive the drama.

Josh Duhamel shared that season 2 of Ransom Canyon will start filming soon. He expressed that he has not read the script but has heard the new season is indeed "fantastic".

“We start shooting [season 2] in a few weeks. I’m excited about that. I literally just got the scripts,” Duhamel told Us Weekly. “I haven’t read anything yet. But I do know from the department heads who have read it, they say it’s fantastic. They liked it even better than last year. So I’m excited to find out.”

His character, Staten, might be involved in the property dispute with his father while continuing his romantic tension with Quinn.

“I know that there’s going to be some friction between me and my dad, who wants to do things with the property that I completely disagree with. I’m guessing it’s going to be a lot of drama. And [drama] with me and Minka, which I’m looking forward to. She’s just fantastic in the [show]. I’m as curious as you are.”

While there has been no confirmation regarding any crossover with Ransom Canyon and Virgin River, Duhamel has expressed interest if it were to happen.
