Countdown Episode 10's opening scenes reveal that Agent Evan Shepherd is trying to disarm the nuclear bomb along with Agent Bell. On the other hand Mark has come face to face with Volchek amidst all the conundrums and the latter clicks the 'ignition' button on his remote device.

But it did not work - thanks to Shepherd's presence of mind, she and Agent Bell dismantled the controlling tablets inside the trucks which apparently broke the connection. Naturally, the bomb does not go off and Volchek is struck by surprise. However, he soon realizes what went wrong and as we witness in Countdown Episode 10 attempts to escape.

Mark tails him despite his brain tumor trying to slow him down. Oliveras accompanies him but takes a hit thereby leaving the task of catching Volchek with Mark alone. The Belarusian terrorist is seen running through an unknown building and even kills a person during the pursuit.

Mark fights his inner battle with all the strength and finds his way to the roof of a nearby building where Volchek takes cover. The latter tries to shoot at the tank of the truck (containing the fissile material) from a distance to blow the scene up but Mark arrives just in time. On the other hand, Nathan Blythe, Bell, Shepherd and Finau try to hold the ground from near the trucks.

Mark's dizziness gets more intense but he tries to keep his arm steady while taking an aim at Volchek. Oliveras appears at the scene and prompts to take the shot and Mark fires his gun. The next thing we see is a dead Volchek lying on the floor with blood smeared all over his face. The Volchek chapter, even though quite abruptly, does come to an end with all the pomp and rock background scores in Countdown Episode 10.

The team members part ways with happy faces, Finau gets a promotion and Mark seeks treatment with the help of Oliveras in Countdown Episode 10

Months of effort finally pay off after Nathan Blythe's task force successfully eliminated Volchek. With happy faces, the team assembles for one last time to thank each other in Countdown Episode 10.

Nathan Blythe praises his unit for such great collaboration (despite being from different departments and forces) while his impeccable leadership also does not pass unnoticed. Late Special Agent Damian Drew is paid homage and all the other members eventually return to their old lives - not to mention that everyone looks content.

As seen in Countdown Episode 10, Nathan is welcomed back by his wife and son while Finau's return to his LAPD unit comes with a surprise - it appears that he has been promoted to the post of sergeant. Moreover, his family waits with a decorated new cabin to celebrate his achievement while on the task force.

On the other, Agent Evan Shepherd gets a transfer to Washington D.C. and before she leaves, Agent Bell takes her out to dinner. But it yet remains to be seen whether the two are growing romantically close to each other. While all of this happening Mark's story has taken a rather serious turn.

As we see in Countdown Episode 10, he has already accepted his fate but his partner in the bittersweet journey, Oliveras, is hell bent to get him new treatment. So, she ends up persuading Mark and arranges an appointment with her acquaintance Dr. Julio Belchrsin.

Their meeting moves towards a positive direction as Mark and Oliveras come to know that the former will be a subject of a brand new medical trial on brain tumors. Apparently, many patients have already undergone the novel treatment and the results look promising.

With moral support from both Oliveras and Julio, Mark finally acknowledges the initiative and signs up for the treament.Later, Oliveras is seen arriving at Mark's place where she gifts him a funny portrait of a cat reading "Hang in there" - a gesture to fuel Mark's confidence in himself.

The two share a heartwarming moment in Countdown Episode 10 drinking beers and holding hands - it is the first time things seem so serious and tense between them. Mark clearly does not want to hold Oliveras back for his treatment, though it's evident that both of them have a soft corner for each other.

Mark eventually begins his treatment and thanks to Oliveras, the team gathers before he goes in for the trial in Countdown Episode 10. The scene hits a rather emotional note and Mark is seen managing his tears while he makes his way into the doctor's room. It remains to be seen whether he gets better from treatment until the next cut scene that takes us 10 months forward in Countdown Episode 10.

"The Muzzle Pile" brings a bigger threat to surface and another perilous mission for Nathan Blythe

Countdown Episode 10 brings a new face on screen - Ryan Fitzgerald aka Fitz (portrayed by Joe Dinicol), a young and enthusiastic agent with the Secret Service who does not seem to be having a great work at time. He has been assigned "the muzzle pile" where he investigates cases which include "bottom of the barrel threats" only.

Fitz looks like a promising young investigator and a random threat report email turns his life upside down within a moment. The message was from a woman named Patricia Perez who was:

"Working at Hammerhead Cabins in Sugarloaf."

Her voice text further reveals that there was a man living in the cabin she was reporting from and he was in possession of "guns and maps and very strange drawings". Not only that, the man being talked about also had "pictures of the President of the United States".Fitz dials the number but the call does not get connected.

So, he rewinds the recording over and over and hears a thud noise at the end of the clip. It raises some suspicion in his mind and so he takes permission from his higher-up and pays a visit to the aforementioned cabin. Unfortunately, his fears turned out to be true as by the time he reaches there, Patricia Perez is already dead - a case of homicide.

The task force reassembles in Countdown Episode 10 and this time under a new name

After Fitz finds Patricia Perez dead, he looks around the cabin for possible clues while waiting for backup. Thanks to his investigative skills, Fitz comes aross a secret compartment in one of the desk drawers and inside of it, he finds a diary filled wth mysterious incomprehensible figures and symbols. Fitz also stumbles upon random pieces of paper inside the waste box and burnt remains of pictures (of government offficials).

Soon it becomes evident that the whole thing is a matter of national interest and security and once again Special Agent Nathan Blythe is brought on board to gather his task force. Finau and Bell are seen waiting at the headquarters while Shepherd arrives at the scene - a rather heartwarming renuion that we witness in Countdown Episode 10.

On the other hand, Agent Blythe is seen talking to the newcomer Fitz inside the cabin and as they come, to much surprise Mark Meachum is seen following them. As it appears he is doing well under the treatment and the old unit is back except Detective Oliveras (who is apparently busy with her DEA tasks).

Nathan introduces Fitz to his old team members and reveals the name of the new task force - Armor. Fitz briefs the unit about the case and the evidence he gathered from the crime scene helped the LA field office and Quantico in connecting the dots to the Governor of California, George Shelby - a potential target. As it turns out that the Governor was up for a Presidential run in the next election cycle.

According to the call to the tip line, there were photos of POTUS as well at the scene of crime but nothing was retrieved. Nathan Blythe finally summarizes the objective of the mission:

"To find the man or woman who murdered Patricia Perez, in cold blood. And to determine whether or not the threat to the Governor of California and POTUS is credible."

As we see at the end of Countdown Episode 10, the team then makes their way to the cabin in Sugarloaf and Fitz is seen struggling to fit in the group of misfits. However, thanks to Mark's keen eyes, the task force is able to discover a hidden basement in the cabin.

As Mark goes to check what is underneath, he comes across a mysterious long tunnel. He slowly approaches along with the others after turning on the lights and soon realizes it is a secret shooting range.

And what appears to be even more sinister is that the person practising in the basement seems to have hit the exact X mark of the dummy target every single time. Countdown Episode 10 thus ends with a big question mark and setting the perfect start to a brand new mission for Nathan Blythe's task force.
