Countdown Episode 13 will premiere next week on Prime Video on Wednesday, following the usual release schedule. Following the tense conclusion to this week's episode, there is much buzz ahead of the finale, centering on many questions that need to be addressed.
Though the task force has been able to figure out the killer's intention, the motive is not clear yet. So far, we know that our new antagonist has some trauma from his past that made him quit his job and spend his time drinking and shooting wild animals.
But viewers do not yet know how and when the barrel of his gun started to point towards the government of the United States. Moreover, Countdown Episode 13 will be the first showdown between Natha Blythe's team and the sniper. Given that the plot is just culminating into the climax, it can be expected that the story will be left on a cliffhanger, leaving room for a second season.

What to expect from Countdown Episode 13?
As seen in this week's Countdown episode, the task force has been lured into a trap, and two of them have already been exposed to the killer, aka Todd. He is now aware of who is trying to hunt him down, and with his twisted little game of puzzles and riddles, our antagonist has left the government, as well as the task force, clueless.
Countdown Episode 13 preview offered a few glimpses of a tense finale with a good amount of suspense, drama, and action. Right before continuing the story, we also got to witness flashbacks of key moments from the task force's bittersweet mission so far.
As the killer loads up his rifle and snipes from a distance in the opening sequence, Nathan Blythe and his team are seen trying to figure out whether he is a singular entity or working with a group. According to Nathan Blythe, the killer:
"Could be or once was a part of law enforcement."
The scene concludes with a question mark as Nathan Blythe's senior Torstrud asks him:
"You think your people are in danger?"
The next sequence shows a visual countdown switching between multiple shots. In one of them, we see Agent Shepherd getting a mysterious call while Oliveras and Mark share an intense moment. Agent Blythe and Fitz are seen at a scene of crime, which is still unclear, and the preview ends with a sequence of the killer brewing some killer chemicals.
Will the task force be able to save the Governor of California and the President of the United States just in time? Or will the killer be able to strike before the intervention? All the answers lie on the other side of Countdown Episode 13.
