Tyrion Lannister aka Peter Dinklage's subtle sense of humor and witty presence, does not go away even when he is off-screen. Looking back in time, when the Game of Thrones star appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live in September 2018, viewers had their minds blown with yet another amusing appearance of the Emmy-winning actor.
Peter took a moment during the interview and mentioned that he 'loves the fans' for the kind of support the HBO classic has gotten over the years. However, his rather serious tone changed within a moment to that of funny, and he eventually talked about how crazy fans could be about his Game of Thrones character. To quote his exact words:
"Once they go around the other block and meet you at the next corner, the creepy radar goes..." (used hand gestures)
Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones has a strong sense of humor, but Peter Dinklage is even better
Tyrion Lannister is a Game of Thrones character who, despite his personal limitations and continuous incoming hatred from some of his family members, evolved out to be one of the best arcs in the GRRM adaptation. He is not only intelligent in technical terms but also wise and confident (when it comes to making political decisions).
Tyrion's acute presence of mind, quick wit and sarcastic nature is what made the character so lovable over the years - not to mention his bold deliveries whenever the need arised. Peter portrays a role that development of which is gradual but inevitable - a person who has always been deprived but nothing stopped him from rising to the higher ranks (thanks to his ambitious and fierce nature).
When asked about his fans on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Game of Thrones star agreed to the fact that he 'can't walk down the street anymore' (as a joke), because of how crazy his fanbase is about him. To quote his words:
"It's a blessing and a curse."
He further extended his gratitude towards the GOT audience and the kind of support he always received. However, it did not stop his funny avatar to reappear and steal the show with these words:
"But sometimes they can follow you for several blocks!"
He also joked about how the fans sometimes get the 'Tyrion tattoo', which is quite famous on social media. Peter went on to talk about how we would love to stun his fans by repeating the same with them and jokingly agreed to the host's statement.
When it comes to awards and recognitions, Peter Dinklage's Emmy-winning streak has been noteworthy, not to mention that he holds a record of bagging the prestigious award for a single category (also the only GOT star to receive it).
While on the Jimmy Kimmel Live interview, Peter looked back in time and shared a heartwarming story about his Emmy win involving his mother. The latter had texted Peter congratulating him on his 'second Emmy' when he had already lifted the third by that time. He joked about how he corrected his mother, saying that it was his third Emmy, to which she replied:
"When did that happen?"
Peter further talked about how he wanted to dedicate the award to his daughter and also said that since the object was "very sharp", he'd have to keep it out of her sight until she became old enough to handle it. The interview also highlights the fact that Peter's sense of humor somewhat seeps into his Game of Thrones character. Moreover, the star talked about his closeness to his on-set brother, Jaime Lannister (portrayed by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), and that Nikolaj is like "a brother from another mother in real life."
