With this being said, let's break down the cast and characters of CSI: Miami!
CSI: Miami cast and character guide – Who plays whom in the CBS police procedural
1] David Caruso played the character of Horatio Caine:
When you think of CSI: Miami, the first person that comes to mind is David Caruso's Horatio Caine. Caruso played his character with confidence. Apart from that, Caine was most known for his iconic sunglasses and his one-liners before the openings. It is to no one's surprise that Horatio is by far one of TV's most memorable procedural leaders.

He wasn't just the head of the Miami-Dade crime lab, but was also the glue that glued the entire team together. His past as a homicide detective gave him the confidence and compassion he needed to run a team effortlessly, and regardless of his unlucky love life, Horatio always carried himself with firmness.
He was first seen as Horatio in a crossover with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation before the Miami spinoff even came to be. After the show ended in 2012, Caruso stepped away from acting completely. Apart from acting, he opened his own art gallery in California for a time.
David Caruso is also recognized for his roles in: First Blood, NYPD: Blue & Kiss of Death.
2] Emily Procter played the character of Calleigh Duquesne:
Every team needs a voice of reason, and Calleigh Duquesne was just that for the CSI: Miami team. Played by Emily Procter, Calleigh was known for her excellent skills with ballistics, which is why she was also called "Bullet Girl."
However, apart from her being good at her profession, what made Calleigh such a fan favorite in CSI: Miami was her smartness, her empathy, and the warmth she brought out, which is why she was the heart of the show in so many ways.
Emily Procter is also recognized for her roles in Love Everlasting, The West Wing & White Collar.
3] Adam Rodriguez played the character of Eric Delko:
Adam Rodriguez's Eric Delko was another fan favorite when it came to CSI: Miami. Eric was skilled in identifying drugs & fingerprints as well as underwater recovery, which made him an all-rounder on the team.

However, what made him really stand out in CSI: Miami was how his personal and work lives clashed with each other. His sister Marisol's tragic death (who also happened to be Horatio's wife) became a turning point for his character, and it gave Delko a more emotional storyline.
Adam Rodriguez is also recognized for his roles in Criminal Minds, Jane the Virgin & Criminal Minds: Evolution.
4] Rex Linn played the character of Frank Tripp:
Frank Tripp might not have been part of the CSI lab itself, but Rex Linn's homicide detective was as much a part of the show as anyone. Frank was the cop who worked side by side with Horatio's team. He knew his stuff, had a lot of experience, and his humor often balanced the intensity of crime scenes in CSI: Miami.

Rex Linn is also recognized for his roles in Young Sheldon, Better Call Saul & Happy's Place.
But for CSI: Miami fans, Frank Tripp will always be the Texan detective who stood tall along with Horatio on the cases they solved together.
5] Jonathan Togo played the character of Ryan Wolfe:
Ryan Wolfe joined the show as Jonathan Togo in season 3 of CSI: Miami, but he quickly made out his own little place in the hearts of the fans. Replacing Tim Speedle, Ryan was the science-focused investigator who was satisfied with himself due to his attention to smaller and important details.

With him being such a perfectionist, it sometimes rubbed others the wrong way, but it also made him an important part of the team. His character eventually grew, and fans saw him grow into a trusted investigator over the seasons.
Jonathan Togo is also recognized for his roles in Lucifer, Little Wing & Covert Affairs.
6] Khandi Alexander played the character of Alexx Woods:
No one brought as much heart to the morgue in CSI: Miami as Khandi Alexander's Alexx Woods. As a medical examiner, Alexx didn't just see the bodies as being part of 'evidence,' but she treated them with respect. At times, she also talked to them very gently.

Her compassion is what made her one of the most loved characters on CSI: Miami. Alexx is the type of character that brought warmth to a show that could otherwise feel criminal and clinical, and fans loved her for it.
Khandi Alexander is also recognized for her roles in Scandal (Emmy nomination), What We Do in the Shadows & BoJack Horseman.
7] Sofia Milos played the character of Yelina Salas:
Yelina Salas brings a personal twist to Horatio's world in CSI: Miami. Played by Sofia Milos, Yelina was Horatio's sister-in-law, wife to his dead brother Raymond. Their history, with hints of unspoken feelings between her and Horatio, gives the show an extra edge of family drama.

Sofia Milos left CSI: Miami after season 3, but her character made a lasting impact on Horatio.
Sofia Milos is also recognized for her roles in The Border as Special Agent Bianca LeGarda, Chicago Justice, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, and The Sopranos.
8] Rory Cochrane played the character of Tim Speedle:
Tim "Speed" Speedle didn't get as much time on CSI: Miami as fans would have liked, but Rory Cochrane made sure he left his mark behind. He worked as a trace and impressions expert and had an extremely easy-going and chill personality. This very personality is what led to him being careless in maintaining his firearm, and this turned out to be a tragedy for him.

His devastating death in Season 2 of CSI: Miami left the team as well as the fans with sadness, and his exit from the show was deeply felt in the seasons that came after his passing.
Cochrane's career only grew after CSI: Miami. He is also known for his works in Public Enemies and Yellowstone. He's also set to appear in the limited series Unspeakable: The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey.
9] Omar Benson Miller played the character of Walter Simmons:
Walter Simmons joined CSI: Miami much later, but he was soon able to earn his way up. Played by Omar Benson Miller, Walter was first seen in season 8 and brought with him a refreshing sense of humor to the team.

Walter was a character who had an easygoing personality, but it was his sharp instincts that soon made him a fan favorite. He was the kind of investigator who could easily lighten the mood but also stand up for himself when things got serious or out of hand.
Miller's career has spanned film, television, and even voice acting. Omar Benson Miller is also recognized for his roles in Ballers, Rugrats, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Sinners.
10] Eddie Cibrian played the character of Jesse Cardoza:
Jesse Cardoza, played by Eddie Cibrian, was a character you could easily approach in CSI: Miami. He was yet another character who preferred having a laid-back energy in the lab. As a Level 2 CSI investigator, he wasn't afraid to look and dig deep into cases when things got rough and tough.

Sadly, his devastating death from halon gas poisoning in the premiere episode of season 9 was one of the more emotional goodbyes for the series, leaving fans truly unhappy.
Eddie Cibrian is also recognized for his roles in Sunset Beach, Third Watch, Country Comfort & Northern Lights.
11] Eva LaRue played the character of Natalia Boa Vista:
Eva LaRue, playing the character of Natalia Boa Vista, gave CSI: Miami some more complexity. As a DNA specialist, Natalia was quite important to the work being done in the lab, but it was her personal struggle and trauma with her abusive ex-husband that gave more weight to the storyline of her character.

As a character, Boa Vista represented strength and vulnerability, which made it easy to connect with her.
LaRue was already a daytime TV favorite thanks to her role in All My Children. Eva LaRue is also recognized for her work in General Hospital and The Young and the Restless.
12] Megalyn Echikunwoke played the character of Tara Price
When Alex Woods left, the team was in desperate need of a new medical examiner, and Tara Price is the character who stepped into the role. Played by Megalyn Echikunwoke, Tara was a skilled medical examiner in CSI: Miami, but she also had her own personal demons to deal with.

Her issues with substance abuse are what eventually led to her downfall, which resulted in her arrest for theft and evidence tampering, which only added to the tensions building up in season 7 of the show.
Echikunwoke has had a busy career both before and after CS: Miami.
Megalyn Echikunwoke is also recognized for having roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and That '70s Show and as DC's Vixen in Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow.
The cast of CSI: Miami wasn't just a group of actors; they were a family in the eyes of the fans who knew and loved them from start to finish. From Horatio's unforgettable leadership to Calleigh's brilliance, Eric's depth, and Alexx's compassionate touch, each and every actor/character brought something unique to the table.
All their combined efforts turned a procedural drama into an international hit that fans still love and re-watch to this very day. Even years after CSI: Miami had its finale, fans remember not just the cases, but also the people who made Miami's crime lab one of the most iconic squad teams in television history.
