Dalgliesh Season 3 Plot
The first case in Dalgliesh Season 3, covering the first two episodes, is based on PD James' 2001 novel, Death in Holy Orders. The story follows Adam Dalgliesh and his sidekick DS Daniel Tarrant (Alistair Brammer) as the two visit a seminary where an archdeacon who wanted to bring positive changes gets murdered. However, as they delve deep, unforeseen enmities come forth.
The second case is based on James' debut crime novel of 1962, Cover Her Face. The detective travels to Essex and teams up with DI Clive Roscoe (Sam Swainsbury), a local cop. The case follows the death of a maid at the Mehta household and as details of the family and the maid’s past come into light, there are hints of racism.
The final case adapts Devices and Desires, a novel James wrote in 1989. Dalgliesh reaches Kent and partners with DCI Kate Miskin (Carlyss Peer), who was once his assistant, to track down a serial killer known as the Whistler.
