Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is still a year away, but production has wrapped up on the Disney+ series. But the series continues to be in conversation amongst die-hard fans despite the first season concluding in April and the second season releasing only next year. The season 1 finale ended on an exciting note as Mayor Wilson Fisk successfully used his position to prosecute his enemies, except for Matt, Karen, Frank Castle, and Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye.
So, considering these four characters are free, Wilson Fisk's power over New York still has some resistance. Therefore, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has an opportunity to do one thing that even the comics haven't done to this day. Have Bullseye team up with Matt Murdock. But the two will have to settle scores or briefly keep their differences aside.
A team-up between these two enemies in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is the logical step because Wilson Bethel's version of Bullseye is one of the most fleshed-out antagonists in the MCU.
Bullseye's story until Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 explained:
We meet Bullseye, played by actor Wilson Bethel, for the first time in Daredevil Season 3, which was released in 2018. His civilian name is Benjamin Poindexter, a name that Bullseye used as a moniker in the comics. Giving Bullseye a civilian name is the first step in humanizing him. Pindexter is introduced as an FBI agent with a dark side, which Fisk discovers.
But instead of blackmailing Poindexter, Fisk manipulates the former into becoming the tool in his campaign against Matt Murdock, whom he has discovered is Daredevil. But Poindexter discovers Fisk's manipulation, turns on him, and tries to kill Vanessa. While Daredevil saves Vanessa from Poindexter's attacks, Fisk breaks his back.
While the closing minutes of season 3 show Poindexter on a surgery table, fixing his back. But before season 4 could return, Netflix pulled the plug on the series, and we see Benjamin Poindexter in the opening scenes of Daredevil: Born Again, Season 1's first episode, where he fatally shoots Foggy Nelson. Poindexter's role in Born Again Season 1 is minimal, as he is in prison for Foggy's murder.
However, Poindexter soon escapes Prison in the eighth episode and tries to kill Fisk again, only to fail. Poindexter manages to escape again and then goes into hiding. The last we see of Poindexter is in the season 1 finale, where he is seen fixing the window of an apartment, setting up his role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
Now, several fans believe that Poindexter might be a potential ally or even a temporary one to Matt in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While it is highly unlikely that Matt and Karen would want to let Poindexter off the hook for killing Foggy, the first season itself confirms that Vanessa had put the hit on Nelson. Thus, Nelson is more of a hired gun in this case.
Wilson Bethel himself confirms that fans will see a different side of Poindexter in Born Again Season 2:
Wilson Bethel, the actor who has played Bullseye/Benjamin Poindexter since 2018, had some interesting teases to offer in regard to his character in an interview published this week. Bethel was interviewed by ScreenRant's Joe Deckelmeier, who asked the actor whether fans can expect a Bullseye and Daredevil team-up in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
Bethel asked Deckelmeier about the source behind the question, to which the latter cited internet rumors. Bethel did not comment on it but teased this instead:
"I don't want to spoil anything, but we literally just wrapped shooting two or three days ago. I am so incredibly proud of the work we did on this new season. I think it's legitimately going to blow people's minds. There's not too much I can say without spoiling it this season, but for fans of Bullseye and the Dex character, I get to do some things that are completely new and novel and insane and crazy. I think some of the best work I've done on Daredevil, and maybe on any show, will be out in this new season. I'm very excited for people to see it. I'm thrilled, man. It's one of the jobs that I'm most proud of in my career, so I can't wait for people to share in it."
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is expected to begin streaming in March 2026. As we wait for it, the first season is available to stream on Disney+.
