Tony Dalton, who Marvel fans will remember as the Swordsman, Jack Duquesne, in Hawkeye, is returning to the MCU. He is teaming up with Daredevil: Born Again in its second season, which will be released on Disney+ in 2026.

This is significant for fans of Marvel’s street-level storytelling. This marks the intersection of two corners of the MCU. Jack Duquesne is moving from the high-society intrigue of Hawkeye into the grittier, street-level environment of Hell’s Kitchen. We will probably see him collaborating with Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, a.k.a. Daredevil.

Daredevil: Born Again maintains the essence of the original Netflix show, yet it is also stirring up the dust. The series follows the exploits of Murdock, the attorney with the super-senses, who combats crime and corruption by night.

The first season featured a reappearance of well-known faces such as Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin. This time, Fisk is no longer a manipulator lurking in the shadows, as he is the Mayor of the City of New York, putting vigilantes in check.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is expected to be even more intense with Jack Duquesne of Dalton returning to the mix. The new season also means larger battles, unexpected alliances, and lots of action, all driving the Marvel street-level universe forward.

Tony Dalton just confirmed he is back for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 during a chat with Comicbook.com. He sounded genuinely excited, mentioning he has already shot “a bunch of action stuff” for the new season.

That is a good hint that we will see some wild stunts and intense fights involving his character in Daredevil: Born Again. Dalton even admitted he got hurt filming one of those scenes, which really says a lot about how demanding the role is, and it fits right in with the kind of gritty action Daredevil fans expect.

“Actually, when you were asking me about [Trap House's] action sequences, that's exactly what I was thinking about in my mind. I did a bunch of action stuff for this next one that's coming out of Daredevil, and man, I got hurt. I got hurt hard. I think I must have chipped a rib or something because for two or three weeks I was in bed. I had bruises all over me. It was hard. Those guys go hard… So, yeah, that’s going to come out, and it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

From what Dalton said, it doesn’t look like Jack Duquesne is just popping in for a quick cameo in Daredevil: Born Again this time. He brought up serious fight scenes and physical stunts, so it looks like the Swordsman is getting right into the thick of things.

That means we can expect some swordplay and a lot more screen time showing off Dalton’s skills. While we don’t know exactly how big his role is yet, all this action suggests Duquesne could be tied directly to the main story, maybe facing off against Kingpin’s crew or even crossing paths with Daredevil himself.

Who is Jack Duquesne, aka The Swordsman?

Jack Duquesne, played by Tony Dalton, lives a double life in the MCU. On the surface, he is just another rich New Yorker, showing up at fancy parties and moving in high society circles. But there is more to him.

Behind closed doors, Jack is the Swordsman, a vigilante with serious skills in sword fighting. He first shows up engaged to Eleanor Bishop, tangled up in family drama, and facing accusations of money laundering and other shady business. Jack’s taste for luxury clashes with his secret life on the streets, and that push-pull makes him a lot more interesting than your typical socialite.

He has always been a bit of a wild card in the comics. He is a master with a blade, no question, and he has spent plenty of time drifting between hero and anti-hero, working with some questionable characters. What stands out about him is this mix: he has the polish of an aristocrat, but he fights like he grew up on the streets. That is rare. It’s what makes him such an interesting addition to the Marvel world, especially alongside someone like Daredevil.

As Swordsman enters the series Daredevil: Born Again, Season 2, things are going to get even more complicated with the street-level heroes. You will find a greater emphasis on teamwork, a new set of skills in the mix, and new dynamism. The story of Jack has changed from lurking in the shadows to being a genuine hero. He is currently finding a middle ground with Matt Murdock and pushing to have a more united fight against crime.

In Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, it is speculated that Jack Duquesne might form alliances with Matt Murdock. The concept here is that Daredevil lures him in to assist in taking down the Anti-Vigilante Task Force of Wilson Fisk. In case you recall the way Season 1 ended, Matt is all set to create his own squad of vigilantes to retaliate against Fisk, who is now enjoying his days as the mayor of New York.

This season digs into an all-out battle: Daredevil’s new crew versus Kingpin’s corrupt cops and hired muscle, both sides going all in. It is the perfect setup for wild fight scenes and some real chaos. Dalton’s Swordsman, with his sword skills and attitude, looks set to stand out in these clashes and play a key part in where the story goes from here.

The cast is stacked for Daredevil: Born Again. Alongside Dalton, Charlie Cox is returning as Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (The Punisher), and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. These recognizable faces ensure that the story is kept down to earth and the emotional impact that fans love again, while bringing a sense of continuity that strengthens the show's emotional stakes moving forward significantly.
