Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again revived Netflix's Daredevil journey once again with an intense double premiere.

The reboot series of the 2015 Daredevil surprised all its fans with a bold move in the premiere, which led to Foggy Nelson's tragic death at the hands of Bullseye.

Foggy and Karen Page are Matt Murdock's loyal friends from the original show. In the series finale, they even started their own law firm. After Foggy's death, Karen decides to move to San Francisco, and it looks like she is not interested in being further involved in Matt's life.

Fans are disappointed to see two of Matt's most loyal friends depart from his life in the revival series and are speculating what the future holds for Karen's character in the Daredevil: Born Again universe. However, Brad Winderbaum, the head of streaming at Marvel Studios, has confirmed that Karen Page and Foggy Nelson will return for season two of Daredevil: Born Again.

Exploring Karen Page's importance in Matt's life and the Daredevil universe

Fans expected to see more of the magical trio of Matt, Foggy, and Karen after they opened their own law firm in the Daredevil Season 3 finale. While the reboot claims to have strong ties to the original and is a continuation of Daredevil's lore, it seems it is moving away from the central trio after Foggy's death.

Karen Page has always been special for Matt throughout Netflix's Daredevil, and she is one of his few love interests who has stayed in his life through all three seasons. While the couple briefly tried exploring a romantic relationship, they eventually decided they were better off as friends.

Karen still remained a central character in Matt's life, especially after he revealed his secret identity to her, and often became his moral compass. She assumed a more central role in Matt's law firm, and her friendship with Foggy and Matt developed at the end of Daredevil.

She even killed Wilson Fisk's right-hand man, James Wesley, in Season 3, which makes her move to San Francisco shocking in Daredevil: Born Again.

What does Karen Page's exit from Matt's life mean for Daredevil: Born Again?

Daredevil: Born Again, it was marketed as a grittier return of the masked vigilante, and the premiere proves that. After Matt is thrust back into his old identity as Daredevil, he loses two of his most loyal confidantes.

Foggy's tragic death and Karen's move to San Francisco hint that the titular character has lost his emotional support and is headed to a bleak future, one where he will not have his old familiar confidantes by his side.

While Karen has moved to San Francisco for now and hinted that she will not return to Matt's life again, the show still leaves the opportunity to bring her character back in later episodes or Season 2.

Many Reddit users are anticipating Karen's return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.

''they had to tie her into the show but couldn’t tie her into the entire season as they had already shot portions of it. Which is why they had her go to San Francisco. Expect more of her in S2,'' u/jrod4290 notes

While Karen is a fan-favorite character, the makers are exploring a darker arc for their titular character, which will be more fueled by Karen's exit. In addition, the reboot also introduces Heather Glenn, a potential love interest to Matt, and a therapist who could replace Karen.
