These two 16-year-olds were completely shocked at the brutal and gruesome murder scene with blood splatters and marks all over the house, leading to the bathtub where the dead body of their mother was found. Though initially, Jasmiyah and Tasmiyah were considered to be victims, soon investigations started, and the twins admitted to the crime of killing their mother. Dateline: Bad Blood unravels the brutal murder of Nikki Whitehead, Jasmiyah and Tasmiyah’s mother, who lived with the two of them in the Atlanta suburb of Conyers. On January 13, 2010, an argument broke out between the three of them. The argument started with Nikki accusing her daughters of their habit of smoking and being sexually active, which turned into a physical argument.

In Dateline: Bad Blood, the details the twins had revealed about the murder. They said that during the argument, Nikki was holding a pot with which she threatened the two of them. However, Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah admitted to hitting their mother with a vase and then using a knife to stab her multiple times.

Nikki’s body suffered numerous stab wounds with injuries to her spine and lungs as well. These two 16-year-old twins had altercations with their mother before as well. Prior to shifting to their mother’s house one week before the crime, they were at their great-grandmother Della Frazier’s house. However, Nikki regained custody and brought the two of them back to her house.

In Dateline: Bad Blood, the taped conversations of the twin sisters revealed the horrifying details of their crimes. Before the two of them were taken to custody, they feigned innocence. Initially, during the investigation, the investigators suspected Nikki’s boyfriend, Robert Head.

In 2014, the two of them pleaded guilty to their crimes and were sentenced to thirty years in prison. Jasmiyah pleaded guilty before Tasmiyah and is currently at Pulaski State Prison in Hawkinsville. Tasmiyah opened up about her crimes a month after her twin sister and is currently behind bars at Arrendale Transitional Center in Habersham County, Georgia.

Nikki’s murder by her daughters is a deeply unsettling case. It is a story of a family’s dynamic that was already in a difficult situation, ending up in the worst possible way.

It cannot be denied that the brutality of the crime committed by Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah leaves a lasting impact. The murder depicts the complexities of human relationships.
