NBC's Dateline episode titled Someone Was Waiting, recounted the tragic 2015 murder of Anna Moses. The 43-year-old Russian woman was found shot and dead in her garage on January 14, 2015. It was revealed that she was killed on January 13, 2025.
After several evidence were found, her ex-husband, Robert Moses, was arrested and was found guilty by a jury in late 2016 for the murder of Anna Moses and was sentenced to life in prison. Moses has been serving his sentence in a Texas prison while waiting for his parole, which is set for the year 2046.

The episode revealed that Anna Moses worked at the University of Texas. Anna had moved to the US in the late 1990s for Robert Moses, whom she married. However, the marriage didn't last. The duo divorced in 2013. It was also revealed that they did not have a healthy relationship as they used to argue a lot.
According to Dateline, on January 13, 2015, Anna missed her date with he boyfriend and also her work the following day. When police were informed and they reached her residence, they found her lying dead in her garage. Later, an autopsy revealed that she was shot seven times, on her back, chest, and throat.
The autopsy also revealed that the shots found on Anna's body were in proximity, suggesting that the killer was someone who had experience with guns. Coincidentally, Anna's ex-husband, Robert, had served in the U.S Air Force, making him the prime suspect.
As they interrogated him, they also learned that he was a firearms owner, but none of them matched the one with which Anna was shot. However, they kept an eye on him, and after he was pulled over due to a traffic offense, the police found magazines matching the same caliber of bullet that were found on Anna's body, which resulted in his arrest.
Furthermore, it was also reported that Anna's car, which was missing from her garage, was found by the investigators. The footprints and bloodstains matched with Robert, who also had a fresh cut on his hand, which made the case against him stronger. Therefore, with all the evidence suggesting that Robert killed Anna, he was arrested for the same by the Frisco Police.

According to Dateline, in late 2016, Robert was found guilty of killing Anna by the jury. He was then sentenced to life imprisonment for first-degree murder charges. In 2018, he tried to appeal the verdict, but failed and still remains in prison.
Moses is currently serving his life sentence in South Emily Drive's William McConnell Unit in Beeville. He will be serving his sentence there until 2046, when he will be eligible for parole.
