On September 8, 2014, Jill Halliburton Su remained in her house. Her husband, Nan Yao Su, left for work. Their house had live camera coverage, which prompted Nan Yao to check on the live feed. He came across a disturbing image, which caused him to get worried about the situation of their house. In the Dateline episode, it is revealed that Nan Yao called his son, Justin, to go back to their house to check if everything is alright. In the live camera feed, Nan Yao saw a shadowy figure “walking from the kitchen toward the breakfast area”.
Nan Yao’s son, Justin, promptly returned home around 12:30 PM. However, the things he saw completely baffled him. Justin witnessed that the cameras that were installed around the house were removed. He heard water running. It caused Justin to follow the sound. Right the moment he entered the master bathroom, he witnessed a horrifying scene. His mother, Jill Halliburton Su, was lying inside the bathtub. He also saw that his mother’s face was inside the bathtub.
The first thought that came to Justin’s mind as he saw this horrific scene was that his mother may have killed herself. He called his father right away to inform him about the situation. 911 was also called after Justin’s father told him to ask for help. However, Jill Halliburton Su did not kill herself; rather, someone did this to her. Jill’s hands and feet were tied. In the Dateline episode, it is revealed that Jill was stabbed 20 times. It caused her devastating death.
