Peacemaker Season 2 prefaces world premiere with a brand-new poster
Peacemaker Season 2 is all set to premiere with a brand-new episode in just a few hours. The first season acted as a spin-off and direct follow-up to The Suicide Squad, but after the inception of the new DCU, the second season has been established as a completely new entity.
Peacemaker, with James Gunn as the creator, director, and producer, involves a subtle reestablishment of the canon as seen in the 2025 Superman. The second season, unlike the first, is set to canonically pick up a month after the events of Superman. The emotionally conflicted anti-hero was fighting the invasion of mind-controlling butterflies in the first season. The second season, however, involves some interdimensional travel for Chris.
The season is set to start off with Chris auditioning for the Justice Gang and yet again being rejected. He then ends up using a device that his evil, deceased father created to jump between dimensions and finds himself in a utopian version of reality. In this version of reality, Chris is not the anti-hero we love to hate, but instead, he is a beloved hero who wins hearts and even Emilia's love.
Chris will be faced with an unescapable desire to stay in the universe, bringing forth the aspects of grief, self-doubt, and horror into his character. The anti-hero is forced to grapple with the horror of what could have been.

The second season of Peacemaker is set to be an extremely fresh take on this popular character, and fans are more than ready for the show's premiere. Along with John Cena reprising his role as Christopher Smith, he will also be joined by Freddie Stroma's Adrian Chase, or Vigilante, Danielle Brooks' Leota Adebayo, Steve Agee's John Economos, and Jennifer Holland's Emilia Harcourt.
In new additions, Frank Grillo is reprising his DCU role as Rick Flag Sr., looking to get revenge on Chris for his son's death. He will be joined by Tim Meadows as A.R.G.U.S. agent Langston Fleury and Michael Rooker as Red St. Wild.
After the first episode's premiere in a few hours on HBO Max, the rest of the episodes are slated for a weekly release every Thursday at 9 PM ET, setting up the season finale for October 9, 2025.
