As Stranger Things Season 5 comes closer, speculations are made about how each character's journey is going to end. Fans are eager to see how it all pans out in the final season, given that we have watched the core characters of the show grow up through the seasons, and have witnessed their journey.

Season 5 features the final battle between Vecna and the crew at Hawkins. While the military is also gearing up to face what has caused the rift in Hawkins, it is Eleven and her friends who are the biggest defence against Vecna. Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler in the show, is reprising his role in Stranger Things Season 5, and is reportedly very happy with how his character arc ended in the final season.

Finn Wolfhard is reportedly very satisfied with his character's arc in Stranger Things Season 5

Since Finn Wolfhard, along with many of his castmates have played the show's protagonists since they were quite young, how their arcs end in Season 5 is of extreme importance. We've seen Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin, Eleven, and Max grow up on the show, and face challenges children their age usually don't. The crew has gone through enough, and need a victory against Vecna to save everything they hold dear.

As Stranger Things Memes (SThingsMeme) posted on X, Finn Wolfhard has reportedly spoken about his character's arc in Stranger Things Season 5, saying,

“I was definitely, definitely pleased with it. And it was something that I feel was bigger than I could have imagined. I couldn’t have imagined how big that moment felt, reading the final thing, and it ended in the best way it could have, when it comes to my character."

Mike was a leader in Season 1, and as far as the Stranger Things Season 5 trailer suggests, he is also going to be the leader of the group in the final season. Wolfhard's statement, posted by Stranger Things Memes hasn't been confirmed by official sources, but if it turns out to be true, it is great news for the fans who might have been anticipating something bad happening to Mike.

The show is known for killing off characters fans love dearly, and as the final season approaches, fans are hoping to see all main characters survive the final battle. If Wolfhard really said that he is pleased with his character's ending, Mike is likely going to survive. Besides, we might also see him in big scenes, fighting Vecna in a way we haven't seen before. That can be great way to end the arc for Mike, who has always had leader tendencies, and faces challenges head-on. He also has to be a big support to Eleven, given that she's the only one who has the same supernatural powers as Vecna and will likely give her all to end him.

Stranger Things Season 5 will be released in three volumes on Netflix. The volumes will be released on November 26, 2025, Christmas, and New Year's Eve, respectively.
